First pregnancy and birth at 41 years old. Need someone who can support and older mother. I plan to give birth in a hospital and want to do an epidural but have some fear due to prior health issues. I would love 1-2 meetings prior to delivery and support in hospital during birthing. Would love to spend $1000 or less.

I plan to give birth in a birthing center! As a ftm I want to do a water birth, and prefer my environment to be calm and peaceful. I’m not sure on a budget right now, just exploring my options as I’ve never had a doula before. I’d prefer someone with at least 2+ years of experience, cpr certified, someone my fiancé and I could rely on and trust with our little one, someone with patience and a bubbly personality, someone who has a real passion for caring for children/babies. Looking for someone to be there when we give birth, provide help with sleep training and getting comfortable with our new baby the first couple of weeks, helping my fiancé and I get some sleep and create a work/home life balance, and most of all supporting me while I take my time to heal and come back from the stress and anxiety. I am very prone to PPD so I want to make sure I can take care of myself as much as possible!

Soon after our delivery date we will likely want 3 week nights / week of overnight help. We just started looking at this, so we aren’t sure what certifications, rates, etc. we want, but we are expecting to book ~30 nights of time, at hopefully a deal since we would be booking so many hours. I think we mostly just want baby care, but maybe some sleep training, and might want to add occasional cooking / cleaning dishes later (curious how the rates differ with the additional services)

It’s my first baby, I’m hoping for a natural birth with the nitrogen oxide (the laughing gas stuff) and maybe even for a water birth if I enjoy it. I also want training in how to breastfeed, care for a newborn, and just labor and delivery. I’m 20 years old. I am still deciding on where I’ll be giving birth at, as I’m moving currently closer to the cities (but still 20-30 minutes away. My insurance covers a doula. I have blue earth shield insurance.
