I always wanted a home birth and giving that I’m now pregnant and also Active duty Air Force, I hear my chances of that are low to not happening. However, I’m allowed to have a midwife and doula and I want one to help me through this! I honestly don’t know how to budget this because I know the military pays for everything but I’m hearing there limitations to how much they cover for a midwife and doula, so if I had to put a number on it I would say $3000. I plan to have a healthy and peaceful birth in a pool in the middle of my living room with my husband by my side and medical team( midwife, doula, etc). I’m not looking anything over the top just a safe and healthy delivery.

Inquiring about pricing and information about doula as i’m 23 weeks into my pregnancy and was wanting to find out more information to be able to have a home birth or someone to support me in this process if there’s a birthing center near by. My birth plan is to be natural as possible, with no epidural preferably face based, and not to be pushed with vaccination, I want me and my husband to have golden time and skin on skin contact.

Prefer to give birth in a center or hospital but possibly open to home birth . I will be 41 at time of birth. I have two previous children born when I was 37 and 38. I am obese and had some hypertension with both pregnancies. No preeclampsia and no medication other than right after 2nd birth. Chloe is looking for Midwife, Birth Doula
Location: Shreveport, LA 71105, USA
Due date or baby's birthday: July 17, 2026
1- hospital birth accompanied by my OB 2- Fully covered by my insurance preferably. My Tricare plan covers up to 6 hours prior to birth and one visit during l&d. 3- I’m wanting to try for a Vbac and labor unmedicated for the majority of labor, but am open to/considering an epidural once active labor occurs. I had an emergency induction with my first pregnancy at 35 weeks due to cholestasis, and ended up having an emergency c-section as well due to failure to progress and concerns of fetal distress by my OB. It was an incredibly traumatic experience that I’m hoping to avoid this time around. My main goal is to use the least amount of medical intervention possible.

Planning for home birth with midwife and doula. I am 41 and this will be my first pregnancy. I have no serious pre-existing conditions, don't drink, smoke or drink coffee, I avoid sugar and processed carbs now and have a healthy BMI. I have not confirmed pregnancy by bloodwork yet, have not seen my PCP about pregnancy yet, but 3 home tests have confirmed positive. Last period was September 25, 2025, but I also appear to have quite a bit of lutenizing hormone in my system. If pregnancy is confirmed by PCP, I am budgeting for about $7000 for everything out of pocket including labwork and ultrasounds--no health insurance at this time. Have just enrolled in Christian Healthcare Ministry's highest package (Cost-sharing program). If pregnancy is confirmed, it will be a pre-existing condition and not covered by the cost-sharing. Birth plan: vaginal delivery support people allowed: midwive, doula, husband, friend, mother birthing tools: ball, squat bar, stool Room: free movement Fetal monitoring: intermittent Photography: probably not, unless at the very beginning or end. Pain management: breathing, counterpressure, massage, hydrotherapy Delivery option: lying, squatting, standing, kneeling Delivery interventions: none if possible Warm compress on perenium: Yes Episiotomy: No Cord blood banking: No Keep the placenta: No Skin-to-skin: Yes, me first Delayed clamping: Yes Vaccinations/vitamins/medicine: No Feeding: Breastfeeding First bath: Delayed Circumcision: Not until a week or so later
