Looking for a doula or a midwife to help me during birth and with postpartum needs. I am feeling very nervous about labor/delivery and would like to have someone with me that can help me manage the process and that can advocate for me. I will be delivering at Huntington Hospital. My pregnancy is considered high risk so I am expecting a possible induction around week 39. I am hoping to find a doula or midwife that is in network with Anthem in order to reduce our cost as much as possible

We believe in natural methods and dont trust medical professionals who push for drugs, surgeries, etc. Western medicine is great for emergencies only, not health. That being said, once we find someone we trust, we will value your expertise if you say that western methods are necessary in certain cases.

I’m in need of a doula who can help me prepare my body for and give a natural birth. This is my fourth child. I have fibromyalgia and each of my children was born in a hospital with an epidural. I would like to avoid having to do that. There is a slight risk of shoulder distocia but I’ve only had an issue with the first child because the doctor panicked and ended up breaking my son’s arm. The other two were delivered healthy with no issues. I’m good with staying active and eating pretty healthy. My third child was actually delivered in a triage room with no Ob or doctor present. He was delivered by six nurses and a lactation consultant. I have superior Medicaid and I’m having to find a doctor late due to moving around too much.

I plan to give birth at home, I would prefer something cheaper or supported at least partly by insurance as money is tight and I would very much prefer to stay out of the hospital due to the stress of hospitals, I would like a water birth although I am open to other options as well.
