This is my first time having a child, so I am looking for someone who can help me and my husband adjust to parenting and feel more comfortable with caring for our newborn. We are especially looking for overnight support, including helping with the baby during nighttime feedings, diaper changes, soothing, and getting her back to sleep. Some guidance with newborn care and establishing healthy sleep routines would also be helpful. Our baby will be a newborn, and we are looking for someone who has professional newborn or infant-care experience, strong references, good values, and a good educational background. We would prefer someone who is certified in infant/child CPR and first aid and has several years of experience caring for newborns. A second language is a plus but is not required. We also have two poodles, so it is important that the person is comfortable around dogs and treats them kindly. We may occasionally need help with light household cleaning, baby laundry, and keeping the nursery and baby areas organized while caring for the baby. Overall, we are looking for someone who is caring, trustworthy, patient, responsible, respectful of our parenting decisions, and able to provide reassurance and support as we learn how to navigate being first-time parents. My mom will be staying with us for approximately the first two weeks after delivery, so ideally we’d begin once she leaves, likely in early December, with some flexibility depending on when baby arrives. We’re thinking approximately 10-hour overnight shifts and would initially like support for 4–8 weeks, with the option to extend if it’s a good fit. We’d love someone very experienced with newborns who can handle overnight diaper changes, soothing, settling baby back to sleep, bottle feeding as needed, and cleaning/sterilizing bottles and pump parts used overnight. I plan to breastfeed/pump but am comfortable supplementing with formula as needed, so experience supporting a combination of breastfeeding, pumped milk and formula would be great. We also have a 3-year-old, so reliability is especially important. Ideally looking for someone CPR/First Aid certified with excellent references and newborn experience. Seeking a night nanny/night nurse/night doula for our newborn baby boy for only 2 or 3 nights a week, from around 9pm to 5am -- we are flexible with the selected days, but ideally they'd be spaced apart and not consecutive. We also have a 2.5 year old toddler, so my husband and I have begun the "divide and conquer" strategy, but I'm still struggling to string together 2-3 hours of sleep at a time with the newborn, which is putting a big strain on my mental and physical health.
