I would like to do a home birth using Tricare insurance coverage upfront only. There is a possibility of postpartum/ night nurse assistance at a later time. Not entirely sure of a "plan" beyond that. Unfortunately, I'm not starting my journey where I'm ending, but attempting to get the ball rolling and start gathering some options to set up interviews when we have hard dates. I will be giving birth in a hospital. I am planning on a nondedicated birth. No interventions unless necessary and no induction. I haven't yet set a budget as I am not sure of the average cost of this service. If possible I would prefer a payment plan.

I fled an abusive relationship in Alberta to come here with my 22 month old. I mostly just dont want to be alone in the hospital. My dad will have my son that is all I here. I was able to have a doula for my first pregnancy and had a lovely experience!

Hi there, my name is Jenny- may I am a single mama to soon to be 5 children. I’m currently 17 weeks and 5 days pregnant with my 5th baby and moving to the Cobourg area. I have been having the hardest time finding a midwife that has availability to assist me with my planned home birth ( waitlisted everywhere) or not in the catchment. I have spoke with some other doulas and friends and have decided that I’m open to an unassisted home birth if necessary. It had come to my attention that there is a term called Traditional Birth Assistants who are not medical professionals but perhaps have more experience with the birth process. It is my understanding that these Birth assistants are typically found by word of mouth. I was wondering if you had any knowledge of anyone practicing this in the Cobourg or surrounding areas?

I need someone that will be able to help with any issues or concerns that I might have throughout my pregnancy. I’ve had a rough first trimester, so I definitely want more support from now on. I had a miscarriage a few months ago, so I tend to feel anxious about any symptoms that I don’t feel or think are normal. I will have a lot of questions and concerns that I need answers to in a timely manner, so someone that I can easily contact is essential. Ideally we need someone that will be able to help through pregnancy and for at least the first month of postpartum. We plan on giving birth at a hospital, but want it to be a natural birth if possible, so having someone that can advocate for my needs during both pregnancy and labor is also important.

Hospital unsure about a budget it’s complicated

In need of a postpartum doula to help with at night feedings and pumping sessions. Help with changes during the night as my husband works the night shift and is non able to help once he goes back to work. Addition duties including kitchen tidying and laundry.
