I plan to give birth in a hospital. My estimated budget would ideally be no more than $2500. I would ideally like a doula that accepts Kaiser Permanente insurance. My birth plan is to deliver vaginally, unless that is not possible, and to do so with just the use of nitrous oxide and with an epidural as a last resort as I am trying to avoid tearing. My partner will be my primary support, and I do not want any men in the room other than him. I value a 'hands-off' approach to the second stage of labor; I prefer to avoid forced or coached pushing and instead want to wait until I feel the urge (laboring down). Hello! I am in search of a postpartum doula to help keep me nourished and rested during some of the gaps in my support from my mother in law in the first weeks postpartum. I will need help with meals, laundry, a little bit of tidying and some TLC that may be hard for my husband to provide me with as he takes care of our three other kiddos. I plan to have a home birth. My budget is unclear, I will ask for some support from my friends and family. My guess is $1000-1500.
