I’m currently pregnant with my 3rd and last baby. Either my first I gave birth to her under 6 hours with limited medication. With my second I had an extremely traumatic forced unmedicated birth not so to medical complications but due to a doctor who made a decision without my consent nor my husband’s. My second birth was 4 hours long. My deliveries are getting shorter so If avoidable I do not want to give birth in a hospital again.

I’m planning to give birth at Alta View Hospital in Sandy, Utah, and I’m hoping to find a doula who can support me through this very personal and delicate experience. My budget is ideally $2,200 or less, depends on the doulas experience. I’m hoping to have a natural delivery if possible, and I’m looking for a doula who is not only supportive during labor but also an educator. I would really value someone who can help me understand what my body is going through, prepare me for different stages of labor, and teach me coping techniques and ways to stay calm and confident. This will be a new and emotional experience for me, so I’m looking for someone who will make me feel safe, heard, and supported while also respecting my wishes and helping me advocate for the birth experience I’m hoping for.

I would like to give birth here at my apartment or at a local birth center. Not a hospital but somewhere where I can birth possibly in water & just naturally. I did my last baby natural in the hospital & I loved it so I don’t see a point going to the hostpial again. I would just like it to be as cheap as possible.

4th baby I have had pretty quick labor and deliveries my first 2 was a 5 hour start to finish upon arrival to birth o had epidurals with them however my 3rd was born 9 minutes after arriving at the hospital no epidural. I was in NY with midwives at Stonybrook hospital and my friends mom who’s the head of midwifery delivered my last and my friends cousin delivered my second so I’ve had very comfortable familiar experiences. My first I delivered with an obgyn who was my regular provider bc it was my first and I was nervous and wanted a dr. She gave me an episotomy which was a tougher recovery I tore a tiny bit in that scar line with my second but my friends mom really supported everything and bc it was so quick I didn’t tear at all with my 3rd. I do not want an episotomy and I want the OB to support so I don’t tear. I’m having more birth anxiety than I had the past 3 times bc my environment is new and I’m 6 years older than I was at my last birth. I understood how to push and it was luckily never an issue however I’m older and I had back surgery two years ago a lamenectomy and disectomy so that changes things maybe a bit. My first 3 were back to back in three years and this is an unexpected surprise I thought I was done but life had other plans. I’m more nervous than I ever have been about this birth though and thought a doula could maybe help…. I’m giving birth at park city hospital my due date it Jan 24 but my last three were all 3-7 days early. After care would also be a consideration since we are away from family and have 3 other school aged kids.

Im Asly! and the whole reason why i’m looking for a doula is because i want to make a decision weather im having a natural birth or not, truly talk with an expert and see if thats what i want for my birth! and if that’s the case i know i will need a team with an amazing doula!
