First baby, planning on a hospital birth, probably Piedmont in Columbus GA. I need a provider who is covered by Tricare Select. I am moving to the area when I am 7 months pregnant, so I am looking for someone to help me navigate the intimidating experience of giving birth without knowing my providers. We hope to have an unmediated, possibly water birth, depending on the hospital’s policies, my main thing is I do not want to give birth on my back. I don’t know yet if I prefer a hospital birth or home birth but I know that I would like to have a water birth if possible. I need a supportive, informed doula that can help me to have as smooth and natural of a birth as possible.
This is our first child. We have no idea what we are doing. I envisage having a night nurse helping 3 to 4 nights a week for the first six weeks to help us understand what to do. Help me with feeding I plan to exclusively breastfeed but obviously no one knows what will happen until the baby comes and also help me with my postpartum.
