Hi, I'm Ranelle but you can call me Rae. I am the momma of three little loves, and the wife to a husband who is so loving, supportive and equally compassionate about women's rights and birth work as I am.   I love life and the human body has always amazed me, so much that biology was my major at the University of Akron. If I’m not researching something birth related, listening to birth related podcasts, watching birthing videos, or using my voice to bring awareness to the blaring maternal mortality and health rates and disparities, I’m chasing  my three babies, or at a sporting event with my hubs!   My my drive comes from my calling, my passion comes from my own experience. While always desiring to be a birth worker from a tiny tot, as an adult, I experienced two devastating losses, and two very traumatic births. Seeing how broken the system is and how intense I had to advocate for basic care was so deeply disappointing and beyond scary, especially as a black woman. I have made it my life's mission to leave an imprint in birth work that defines positive changes in birth outcomes.

We are a wife-and-wife doula team in Pittsburgh, PA supporting families since 2014. We offer support during pregnancy (childbirth classes, lactation education), birth (birth doula support), and postpartum (lactation consults, gentle sleep consults, and postpartum doula support). We are committed to running an inclusive, trauma-informed practice. Working with a diverse clientele, we love supporting families along the journey of welcoming a new baby!

I am a student midwife working toward my CPM credential through the National College of Midwifery, a full-spectrum doula specializing in preconception and postpartum, and a wanna-be farmer serving Western PA and some parts of OH/VA. Hi, I'm Erika! I'm a Pennsylvania State Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula, CPR certified, and passionate about helping families feel informed, supported, and empowered throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum journey. Since 2021, I've had the privilege of supporting more than 70 families through birth and postpartum, providing compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to each family's unique needs. Whether you're planning an unmedicated birth, epidural, induction, cesarean birth, or simply looking for someone to guide and encourage you along the way, my goal is to create a safe, judgment-free space where you feel heard, respected, and confident in your decisions. In addition to birth support, I provide overnight postpartum care, helping families adjust to life with a newborn by offering newborn care, breastfeeding support, emotional encouragement, education, and allowing parents the opportunity to rest and recover. My overnight shifts are designed to bring peace of mind during one of life's biggest transitions. My background also includes experience working in hospital settings, giving me a strong understanding of the healthcare system while allowing me to effectively collaborate with nurses, physicians, midwives, and other members of your care team. I believe birth is deeply personal, and every family deserves individualized support that honors their goals, values, and preferences. As your doula, I strive to be a calming presence, a trusted advocate, an educator, and a source of unwavering support, from pregnancy through the fourth trimester. Laura began her babywearing and doula journey over 19 years ago with the birth of her first child. She blends 14 years of experience in mental health social work with her professional babywearing and doula training to provide sensitive and compassionate services to families in Western Pennsylvania. Laura is a licensed clinical social worker in PA and certified as a postpartum doula by DONA International.
