I don't know enough about this part and need an expert who can know the signs and take charge when the time comes for delivery. I will be giving birth and Sentara hospital in Woodbridge. I would like to attempt an unmendicated VBAC (previous C-section because of placenta Previa). I am not sure how much doula services cost so I don’t know what my budget is. Ideally, I would like to have as little intervention as possible during labor and birth. I know things can change quickly so ultimately I want a healthy baby and a safe delivery.

I plan to give birth in a hospital and I’m looking for a doula who can support me on the day of delivery. I am planning to get an epidural if possible and would like guidance with using a peanut ball and laboring in different positions instead of only delivering on my back. I may want to try all-fours on the bed or side-lying with one leg supported. I also prefer for the placenta to remain attached until it stops pulsating. My estimated budget for doula support in Richmond, VA is around $800–$1,200 depending on what is included. I currently have Blue Cross Blue Shield FEP (lowest plan) and would like to know if any portion can be reimbursed.
