My name is Delaney Coleman, I’m 29 years old and pregnant with my first baby. I found out on March 28 that I am pregnant, and I am excited and nervous. Depending on cost, I’ll probably end up giving birth at a hospital, but my ideals line up more with midwifery/birthing center processes. My estimated budget is probably no more than $500 if that is even possible. I don’t know the general charge for a doula, but I would love a very experienced one who can advocate for me and my husband when we are stressed out and vulnerable at and after the birth. I would like a physiological, uninterrupted birthing experience. Cervical checks are not needed unless there is a medical emergency. My water will break naturally. I do not consent to manual rupture unless absolutely necessary. I will push when and how my body tells me to. I do not want coached pushing unless I ask for guidance. Hands-off approach during pushing unless I request support. Warm compresses only if I ask. I will choose the position I give birth in. Low lighting and minimal noise in the room. Cord clamping should not be done until the cord is white and no longer pulsing. The placenta will detach and deliver on its own. Up to one hour after birth is normal and safe. After one hour, if there are medical concerns, intervention may be necessary. No cord traction, pitocin, or medications to speed placenta delivery unless there is an emergency. Immediate skin-to-skin after birth. No separation from my baby unless medically necessary. All procedures and medications for my baby must be clearly explained beforehand. I want uninterrupted bonding time after birth. We would NOT like any Vitamin K to be given to our daughter or heel pricks done, unless she is born by vacuum, forceps or cesarean My husband or myself will cut the cord I would prefer if nobody was to take or hold my daughter unless there’s a medical emergency This is what felt right and safe for me and my body. Every birth is different this was simply my choice. I do have Tourette Syndrome, which I can go into further detail about with my future doula. I am predisposed to potentially have twins (runs in my family, has always been fraternal twins). Any other duties would probably simply be to help me prepare for baby and help me possibly with some lactation consulting. Otherwise, I have some family members who can come over the first bit and help with household chores if need be. Unfortunately, due to my insurance type, I am not sure what will be covered in care, so the lowest charging with most experience doula is right up my alley! I don’t really know how this goes. |

Hi there! I am planning to give birth at a hospital and have a very flexible birth plan. Doula care is covered in my insurance (BlueCross BlueShield CareNow) and that is where most of the budget is coming from. My main concern with my birth plan is that the baby and I are both safe and healthy. I do have some anxiety around birth and something going wrong, so emotional support is a must for me. My husband and I are first-time parents so I know that he would also like support as he will be my main support system. We do not plan on having any other visitors in the hospital. |

First time mom, have thyroid nodule from the past that has been in remission till now - 9 weeks pregnant - but want to give birth the most natural and non-medicated way as possible. Interested in delayed cord clamp (more delayed than 1 minute) and no vaccines. So far, plan to give birth in a hospital or birthing center connected or next to a hospital. Unsure the normal cost, but budget is 2k. Thank you, |

Due date or baby's birthday: May 22, 2026
I’m planning to give birth at Presbyterian Hospital under the care of Dr. Julie Hagood. My husband and I are hoping for a natural birth experience and are looking for a doula who can support and advocate for us through the process. My goal is to have as natural and peaceful a birth as possible. I’d love to work with someone experienced in unmedicated hospital births who can help me prepare mentally and physically, guide us through labor, and ensure that our preferences are respected. I want to hold my baby immediately after birth, no washing, and begin breastfeeding right away. It’s very important to me that no procedures or interventions, either for me or the baby, are done without my consent. I’d also like to discuss newborn procedures (including vaccines) in advance and ensure my wishes are honored. I’m not sure about the typical budget for doula services and would love to learn more about packages and options. I’m looking for a calm, supportive presence who can help my husband and me feel confident, informed, and empowered before and throughout the birth experience. |

I plan to give birth in the hospital in case there are any medical emergencies with me being high risk (I’m 37). My insurance should pay for this. I don’t currently have a birth plan, as I’m only 10 weeks and am doing this alone. |

Rachel is looking for Birth Doula
|
Location: McKinney, TX 75071, USA
Due date or baby's birthday: September 19, 2026
I plan to give birth at Baylor Scott and white hospital in McKinney tx. This is my first baby so I’m not sure what to expect for my budget, but I would like to receive a quote. I am looking for a doula that can help prioritize my birth plan and focus on my needs during the birth, while the OB focuses on the baby. I would really like to give birth vaginally and am looking for someone who values modern medicine but can also help keep things as natural as possible if it is safe. I’m looking for someone who will advocate for me when things get crazy in the delivery room and who is willing to coach me through labor and help support my husband in supporting me. I am currently hoping to give birth un medicated, but I am open minded as I have never experienced labor before. I know I will want delayed cord cutting and breastmilk only. I would also like to learn about different birth positions and reduce the risk of tearing and as natural as possible birth if the placenta. |
