We are planning to give birth at Women's and Infants in Providence. We believe doulas should be covered by Cigna in RI. Our birth plan is relatively standard, in hospital, epidural, etc.

Hi, I plan to give birth in the hospital (W&I), I’m hoping to have these doula services covered by insurance if possible. My birth plan is to have my baby natural with less intervention as possible. I desire a doula that will advocate for me in the hospital setting, and who will support me thru pregnancy. I prefer working with a woman of faith in God as I am a believer in Jesus.

I have several acquaintances who have used doulas and had a positive experience, so I want to explore the option. I am not in any way opposed to western medicine, but had a prior hospital experience where drugs were pushed unnecessarily, and I'm trying to minimize that. Help managing pain through positions, etc. and advocating is primarily what I am looking for. My husband is very supportive but likely to be stressed and potentially not a good advocate in the moment.

We will be bringing home our baby girl who is being carried by a gestational carrier. We would like a doula to help us evenings and overnight to care for the baby, so we can learn as much as possible and also help with baby sleep patterns to help prevent trigger seizures ( I have epilepsy)
