I want to prep my body so birth is not a horrible experience. I'd prefer someone with many years of experience, at least 5. And speaks English and Spanish. I'm 28 years old and I'd like to have a postpartum plan to include healthy eating habits and exercise.

Hi! I’m a 21-year-old married mom of a 2-year-old, currently pregnant with my second baby and going through a separation from my husband. I’m a Christian, and I’m really looking for a doula who can support me physically, emotionally, and spiritually throughout this pregnancy and birth. I’m hoping to have an unmedicated, natural birth and would love to learn breathing techniques, labor positions, and different coping strategies to help me prepare. I’m honestly scared, and one of my biggest goals is to have a positive birth experience and to avoid tearing entirely if possible. I want to learn everything I can to prepare my body and reduce my risk of tearing. I also want to learn more about nutrition during pregnancy, including organic foods and understanding healthy versus less-healthy carbohydrates. I plan to breastfeed again and would love support with preparing for that as well. I also have questions about healthy weight management during pregnancy and postpartum and would love guidance on how to safely care for my body while making sure my baby is properly nourished. My husband and I are separated, but I would like him to be able to learn how to support me during pregnancy and birth if he is willing. I would appreciate a doula who can help educate both of us on what genuine, respectful support can look like during labor and delivery. As a Black mother and woman, I’m also very aware of the disparities and racism Black women can face within the healthcare system. Having someone who can advocate for me, help me understand my options, and make sure my voice is heard and respected during such a vulnerable experience is extremely important to me. I really want to feel safe, informed, empowered, and supported throughout this journey.

at kaiser Permanente Riveride, i am planning on using my medical or my kaiser insurance i would like to have a smooth birth i do plan on getting the epidural but i have scoliosis and does not go well when the procedure is getting done, i would like to get help on information if i do not understand or if im out of it from medication

First baby - hoping for low interventions and unmedicated. Not sure if I am ready to commit to unmedicated though. Either way, I'd like to stay unmedicated as long as possible/as long as is safe. I know very little about labor/birth and have been afraid of it for a while. I'd like someone who is well versed in physical support, and of course mental/emotional support and birth education. I have somewhat of a distrust of doctors and want someone who knows the data on when things are necessary, and when things are not necessary. My husband is pretty squeamish and he may need some mental support too. I am a patient of the midwives at Orange Coast Womens Medical Group and I plan to give birth at HOAG Irvine. I had a traumatic birth experience with my first child born in February of this year. I am now pregnant with my second child and would like a doula to be of support to my fiance and I while navigating my second pregnancy.
