Hi! I’m Rechelle, a doula based in Los Angeles County. Growing up in an underserved community with limited access to OB/GYNs and specialized care shaped my passion for healthcare and advocacy. My journey into birth work began with an internship at Black Infant Health, where I witnessed the power of culturally relevant support, especially for Black families who face higher risks and poor health outcomes. I trained with Grounded Beginnings, a program rooted in supporting BIPOC doulas to serve their own communities, because I believe in care that’s relationship-centered, culturally competent, and truly accessible. My background in public health and my personal experience supporting my older brother with special needs showed me the gaps families face in healthcare—and fueled my mission to close them. As a doula, my philosophy is simple: every birthing person deserves compassionate, personalized support. I work closely with families to prepare for birth and postpartum in ways that feel grounded, practical, and nurturing. Whether it’s through breathwork, comfort measures, lactation education, or just being a steady presence in the room, I aim to help families feel informed, supported, and confident. My mission is to reduce maternal health disparities, while honoring the unique needs of all the families that I serve.

My doula support is very hands-on and tailored to each family. During our prenatal visits, we’ll work together on comfort measures, breathwork, and mindfulness practices that can ease your pregnancy symptoms and prepare you for labor. I’ll also guide you through creating both a birth plan and a postpartum plan so you feel supported before, during, and after delivery. If it’s helpful, I can even attend a medical appointment with you to provide encouragement, help you ask the right questions, and ensure you feel confident in your care. Postpartum visits are all about meeting you where you’re at. Some days that may mean helping with lactation support, checking in on your emotional well-being, or preparing a meal so you can focus on rest and bonding. Other days, it might look like light chores, referrals to trusted local providers, or simply being a calm, reassuring presence in your home. My goal is to help you feel cared for, nourished, and empowered as you settle into life with your new baby. Extra visits can always be added if you’d like additional support.
Rechelle was such a blessing during my birth journey. From the very beginning, she made me feel seen, heard, and cared for. She brought so much comfort and reassurance, not just for me but for my family too. Her presence was calming, her knowledge was grounding, and I I highly recommend her to any family looking for a dedicated and loving birth worker.

My provider Ms. Patterson guided me through my pregnancy and loss of pregnancy. She made me feel as if it was going to be so easy I felt as if I was seen and listened to especially as a black woman it’s important to have an advocate like her, the statistics of death are way higher for black women in America when giving birth.
