I am planning to give birth in a hospital and am looking for a certified doula who accepts or is familiar with TRICARE Prime coverage. I'm not sure what to expect regarding the cost, so I am hoping to find someone whose services are covered by TRICARE or eligible for reimbursement. I am due on November 20, 2026. My birth plan is to try a low-dose epidural at first, with the option to increase it if needed. My goal is to have the best pain relief possible while maintaining safety for me and my baby. I prefer to avoid Pitocin unless it is medically necessary. I would also like to avoid giving birth flat on my back if possible and would prefer to labor and deliver in side-lying or other upright, supported positions as appropriate. During labor, I would like to use comfort measures such as a birth ball, peanut ball, and squat bar, and I prefer intermittent fetal monitoring if it is safe for me and my baby. After birth, I would like delayed cord clamping, to leave the vernix on my baby rather than wiping it off immediately, and to have uninterrupted skin-to-skin contact with either me or the baby's father for about the first hour before routine newborn assessments, provided my baby is healthy and does not require urgent medical care. I would prefer to delay the hospital bath and decline routine eye ointment unless it is medically necessary or required. I understand that my birth preferences may need to change if there is a medical concern for me or my baby. I am looking for a certified doula with at least 10 years of experience supporting hospital births. I am 28 years old, this is my first pregnancy, and I plan to breastfeed if possible but am open to supplementing with formula if medically necessary. I would also appreciate postpartum support, including newborn education, breastfeeding guidance, and sleep training support after my baby is born. Most importantly, I am looking for a doula who complements my husband's role rather than replaces it. As first-time parents, we want someone who can help create a calm, low-stress environment, guide my husband on ways to comfort and support me during labor, and empower us to work together as a team throughout the birth experience.

First baby - hoping for low interventions and unmedicated. Not sure if I am ready to commit to unmedicated though. Either way, I'd like to stay unmedicated as long as possible/as long as is safe. I know very little about labor/birth and have been afraid of it for a while. I'd like someone who is well versed in physical support, and of course mental/emotional support and birth education. I have somewhat of a distrust of doctors and want someone who knows the data on when things are necessary, and when things are not necessary. Planning an unmedicated hospital birth at Hoag Hospital Irvine for my first pregnancy. Already have my birth plan figured out and mainly looking for support and advocacy during labor for me and my partner and to learn any helpful information for first time motherhood. Also looking for support and knowledge in breastfeeding where I can improve! Looking for a doula that accepts Tricare Select. I plan on needing doula support during the whole labor and my insurance covers a total of 6 hours of doula support before and/or after birth.

I had a traumatic birth experience with my first child born in February of this year. I am now pregnant with my second child and would like a doula to be of support to my fiance and I while navigating my second pregnancy. I plan to give birth at a hospital, I don’t know which one yet because I don’t want to go to the same one I previously went to. I can send my previous birth plan for reference, there may be some things I add or take off. I just want someone who is personable and able to be emotionally supportive for my little family. We just want an extra set of hands so neither of us is stuck doing chores instead of resting or spending time with the kids. Budget: $35 to $40/hour, depending on experience.

Hello ! I am recently pregnant, due Jan 2027. This will be my 3rd pregnancy/birth so it's nothing new to me but since it will be my last , I am looking to try something new and have a doula by my side. Both of my previous pregnancies I spent alone . Luckily this time , I have an amazing partner and supporter, just looking to add in a little support in areas he can't always fill. I would like my doula/midwife to provide continuous emotional and physical support, encouragement, and guidance while helping me feel informed and involved in decisions throughout the process. I want to create a peaceful environment where I can feel safe, supported, and confident in my ability to birth my baby. I understand that plans may need to change if a medical concern arises, and I am open to transferring to a hospital if it becomes necessary for my or my baby’s safety.
