I am considered a high-risk pregnancy due to complications in my previous pregnancy. During my last pregnancy I experienced severe preeclampsia and stopped breathing, which was a life-threatening situation. Because of this history, I want additional support during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. A doula can help monitor my well-being, provide emotional and physical support, help reduce stress, and assist with recognizing warning signs early. This support can also help reduce my risk of postpartum complications and improve my overall health outcomes.

I plan to give birth at South Cobb Wellstar Hospital. I will be using insurance Medicare to cover my delivery, so I am looking for someone who accepts insurance-based clients and works within those guidelines. I am planning a regular vaginal birth in a hospital setting. I would like a supportive and calm environment, with clear communication throughout labor and delivery. My goal is to have a safe and smooth birth experience, and I am open to medical interventions if they become necessary for the health of me or my baby. I’m in Piney River, Virginia, which is 45 minutes to an hour from Charlottesville. I would like to labor as long as possible at home to need somebody who can help me to labor at home, but to know when to go in to the hospital, I would like a natural low intervention birth. I would like somebody to help me with breathing in different massages and pain coping mechanisms for labor I would like somebody to advocate for me at the hospital for the things that I find important.
