Hi! I’m currently looking for a doula. This is my second baby, and my first birth was very traumatic due to complications with my epidural, so I’m hoping to try a different approach this time. I’m specifically looking for a bilingual doula (English & Spanish) who is affiliated with Kaiser, has worked with Kaiser, or has a Kaiser provider number. Thank you so much!

looking for someone to work seven nights a week for three weeks delivering at scripps memorial in La jolla
We live in La Mesa, California. We are having our first baby via gestational carrier (GC). Our GC is giving birth at Loma Linda University Hospital. We have contracted with a daytime doula for the first few weeks to help us with our newborn baby girl. We would also like to schedule a night time doula for a few nights a week, for the first 3 months. We want quality care and seek to hire accordingly. My husband and I tried to have a child for 4 years before turning to surrogacy. After years of TTC, we did multiple failed IUI cycles, then a great IVF cycle that produced 9 embryos. We used our own eggs and sperm to create our embryos, but I was never able to carry the baby to term. I had multiple early miscarriages and multiple failed FETs (frozen embryo transfers). We ended up deciding to try a GC, in hopes that one of our beautiful embryos could grow and blossom in someone else’s healthy womb. We are so grateful this worked, and so grateful to the wonderful woman carrying our baby.

I am currently expecting my first child with a due date of April 26, and we are looking for a Postpartum Night Doula to support us during the initial weeks. Our primary goal is to have professional overnight care for our newborn so that we can focus on recovery and rest. We are currently looking for approximately 60–70 hours of total support. Additionally, our insurance (through Qualcomm) provides a $3,000 Doula benefit. We are looking for a partner who can provide the necessary documentation for reimbursement. Familiarity with the Qualcomm (UnitedHealthcare) claims process would be a significant plus. Before scheduling a formal interview, I would appreciate it if you could provide some information regarding the following: 1. Professional Experience & Care Overnight Experience: Could you share your experience specifically as a "Night Doula"? How do you typically support first-time parents in maximizing their rest? Safety (SIDS): Are you trained in and familiar with Safe Sleep Guidelines? How do you monitor the baby’s safety during your shift? Education & Coaching: Are you able to provide guidance on newborn care, such as breastfeeding support or infant bathing? 2. Communication & Administration Communication Style: How do you typically communicate updates to parents? (e.g., overnight logs, shift summaries, or daily reports?) Insurance Documentation: Can you provide detailed receipts or invoices for insurance reimbursement (including an NPI number or specific service codes if applicable)? Back-up Plan: In the event of an emergency or illness, do you have a back-up Doula who can cover your shifts? 3. Rates & Policies Rates & Deposit: What is your hourly rate, and do you require a deposit to secure the dates? Flexibility: Given that birth dates can be unpredictable, what is your policy regarding a baby arriving earlier or later than the due date? What is your cancellation policy? If you are available during late April and May, please let me know. If your background aligns with our needs, we would love to schedule a video call or an in-person meeting to discuss further. Thank you!
