Hi - My wife is 29 weeks pregnant and expecting in April. We are seeking a doula who can support her in her journey and in the child’s birth. Our biggest need is not a cheerleader but instead someone who can represent us and our needs with the hospital leading up to the birth and at the hospital during labor, delivery, and post delivery. More like a wedding planner and less like an emotional support person. Would love to make a decision within the next two weeks.

I have gestational diabetes and on insulin and need to be induced between 38 and 39 weeks. I had a pretty traumatic first birth experience due to the same issue and ended up in a c-section. I would like the support in the hospital for a natural VBAC. Plan on giving birth at Vassar Brothers Hospital. Budget is around $700 if my insurance can cover the majority. I would like a natural VBAC even with an induction and no Pitocin if possible.

Planning to give birth at Lenox Hill hospital in NYC. We are looking for a postpartum doula AND night nurse, someone who can help me adjust postpartum and care for me and my baby. I am looking for doula support during birth and potentially postpartum. My husband and I felt very prepared, we read the bradley method and had been practicing quite a bit for a natural birth. I didn’t think there was a need for a doula because we seemed to be a great team. At our last ultrasound we got news that baby is measuring small and are pushing for induction. Now I feel silly for not hiring a doula sooner. It feels like such a huge gap in communication between us and the doctors even though we have done everything to educate ourselves. I am hoping to find someone that can help fill that gap, help us to feel like we are making informed choices and to support me during labor so I don’t have to rely fully on my husband in case of any complications.

I will be giving birth at Weill Cornell Alexandra Cohen hospital in NYC with my husband, Isaac, by my side. My OBGYN in Dr. Lauren Ruggiero.
