This is my 4th pregnancy and I’m looking for a midwife that could support me during a VBAC. My first two babies were born vaginally, with my 3rd baby born prematurely at 29w6d via emergency C-section. My goal is to do a natural VBAC and I would love to have additional support for laboring naturally and having holistic pain management techniques within a hospital setting. Would you travel to Sumner/Waterloo area or is that too far for your service? Thank you!

Hospital - Henry Ford Providence Novi Birth plan- I really just need support during labor. I've had 2 vaginal births and this would be my third. I've had to be induced both times. I am open to all necessary medical interventions, including epidurals... Just truly want support through the whole process.

Gentle C-Section Plan: Environment: Request dimmed lights, a quiet room, or to play your own playlist. Support: Designate your partner or support person to be present. Comfort: Request IV lines, blood pressure cuffs, and EKG leads be placed on your non-dominant arm to allow for easier holding of the baby. Visualization: Ask for a clear drape (or to have the mirror/screen lowered) to see the baby being born. During the Birth Communication: Ask the staff to explain what is happening, and consider requesting they tell you when they are ready to begin. Skin-to-Skin: Request immediate skin-to-skin contact in the operating room (OR) if no medical issues arise. Cord Clamping: Ask for delayed cord clamping, allowing the cord to stop pulsing before it is cut. Bonding: Request that the baby stays with you while the incision is being sutured, rather than going immediately to a warmer.
