About me

I have been a Birth Doula since 2014 and a Fertility Educator since 2016. I am passionate about helping women understand their bodies better from preconception through postpartum. I was inspired by my own experiences throughout my 4 pregnancies and have worked with clients from all backgrounds and delivery scenarios including, but not limited to: hospital, birth center, home birth, c-sections, VBACs, medicated, Un-medicated, multiples, high-risk, micro-preemies, and adoption (birth and/or adoptive parent support). As a Doula, my goal is to help my clients experience the birth of their dreams. My training is body-centric and focused on optimizing fetal positioning for a more comfortable pregnancy, smoother delivery, and better postpartum recovery. I am hands on and often provide comforting touch and release work. As a Fertility Educator I support clients who want to better understand their menstrual cycle to either avoid or achieve pregnancy through private, virtual classes.

We worked with Tara during my pregnancy and postpartum period, and she has been absolutely wonderful. Although I ultimately gave birth out of state, Tara provided invaluable support before and after the birth. She is incredibly knowledgeable about both the birth process and the postpartum period for mom and baby. Just as importantly, she brings a very warm, calm, and reassuring presence. During one of the most vulnerable and intense periods of life as a new family, Tara consistently showed up as a steady, thoughtful guide. She was generous with her time, answered our many questions patiently and with expertise, and helped us feel more confident navigating the early weeks with our newborn. Every visit left us feeling more supported and grounded. I would wholeheartedly recommend Tara to any family looking for a knowledgeable, compassionate, and dependable doula.

Laboring with Tara was great! This was my second birth but my first with a doula. Tara definitely made a difference in how I felt during the labor/delivery process. It was reassuring to have her wealth of knowledge at my fingertips during laboring at home and all the way to the hospital. She was a great encouragement to me during the time she spent with us. She also showed my husband ways that he could support me as well. Tara is a great listener and communicator and took initiative throughout my labor and delivery to help and encourage me. I would definitely recommend Tara as a doula.

Tara was extremely knowledgeable in all things birth and made my husband and I that much more comfortable in the entire process. I am a FTM and having her with us and guiding us through it all was amazing to have. I had a great birth experience and a lot of that is because of Tara.

Our experience with Tara was wonderful! She’s warm, knowledgeable, professional and flexible. We had a short pregnancy and went into preterm labor and Tara was there with us the whole time! She truly helped keep us calm in some chaotic moments. Thank you, Tara!

Tara was the perfect birth doula for me. She is extremely experienced in all things birth-related. Thanks to her advice, I was able to achieve my birth goal the way I wanted. She brought her calmness to my home during the early phase of labor which provided me the exact support I needed as a FTM. The massage she helped me with was extremely helpful and decreased the discomfort by 30% to 70% during contractions. Without her service, I wouldn't be able to have the empowering birth experience I had. I highly recommend her service to anyone who is considering hiring a birth doula.

I dont react well to hormonal birth control and was looking for alternatives. Tara was an incredible educator on the science behind sympto-thermal family planning - 10 years and no babies for me! Thanks, Tara!!!

Tara is someone you want to have in your corner when you deliver. She's such a calm, supportive, and knowledgeable person and with her support, my husband and I were able to have the birth we wanted, even though we had to make some compromises along the way. The two prep calls we had with Tara really helped us understand what to prepare for and know what to expect should we have to be induced or have a c-section. She also helped us develop a birth plan and told us what things we should pack. And her counter pressures really worked miracles during the toughest parts of those contractions! She's a very supportive person and not once did I ever feel like she pushed any of her opinions or thoughts onto us, and I loved working with her for that.

Tara was my doula for my first delivery in June of 2014, and she really was a saving grace. I went into labor on a Thursday evening, but since baby's head apparently wasn't positioned just right, I wasn't dilating. So I spent basically the next 64 hours (until Sunday afternoon) in labor, and it was grueling. Tara came over to my house and stayed with me throughout labor and delivery, helping me move through contractions, find better positions, and alleviate pain naturally. She was so patient and encouraging, and it was such a relief to have someone to actually help me through to delivery. Tara is definitely a stellar doula, and I highly recommend her services.

On the day I went into labor, Tara was up and eagerly ready to fulfill her support role. At the point Tara arrived, I was struggling through my contractions and Tara immediately provided relief as she would continue to do tirelessly through the duration of my labor, through various types of massage. I am telling you, she was absolutely awesome! During the contractions, Tara would find a way to help me cope with the pain through these different massages. I couldn’t believe how varied they were and how much they helped the actual pain my body was experiencing and my mental stance during the contractions. Tara offered to ride with us. The ride was very uncomfortable and she helped me through the beginning of my back labor contractions. Upon arriving at the birth center, Tara eased into her support role with the birth team, my midwife and two nurses. Tara continued to provide the massage support and I know her arms and upper body had to be so worn out, but she did not ever indicate if they were and kept the focus on me and what my body needed to do to bring baby into the world. I had birthed our 8th child over 2 years before in the same room, in the same way. I couldn’t get settled in the water though. I tried some different positions and feeling frustrated and lost, got back out and paced the room. I had some very painful contractions out of the water and Tara piped up with a good suggestion for help with my body position for the next contraction. I tried it as soon as the next one hit and felt thankful that she had thought of something for me to try. Tara was great through my she-woman screams and her calm and assured voice reminded me to breathe and encouraged me in those last excruciating moments. Baby came out in the water and of course, all angst was immediately wiped from memory. But, I cannot forget how awesome it was to have Tara with us through this labor.

Tara went over and beyond with us. We were so thankful that she made herself so available to us, answering questions, coming over, and even joining us at the hospital when I had a version. Throughout my long labor, she was a huge support emotionally and physically to my husband and me. We can't recommend her highly enough!
