Hi I am a 36 year old who has gone through the IVF process and are now happily expecting a baby. We are in Week 6-7 of this process. We are looking for a midwife who is able or has association with hospitals or birthing centers in NJ. We are also contemplating having a home birth but are not 100% sure of that option. I am getting an IUI this month, and I am interested in finding more information about a Doula. I would like one while I am in the hospital giving birth to advocate for me, and I would like to know the average cost for my area. I will be giving birth at Saint Mary's Medical Center in Langhorne, Pennsylvania. My birth plan would include Skin to Skin as long as possible for both myself and my husband, I do not want my child taken from the room unless medically necessary. During Birth I want to be able to change positions and not just give birth laying on my back. I feel that is important. Since I am not currently pregnant this may change as I am still doing research and I do not know if IUI will take the first try. We have been trying for 4 years.

I plan to give birth in a hospital, I’m not sure how much a duola typically costs but I believe my insurance covers it. If not, probably around $600. I would like an unmedicated birth and to practice breathing and also someone to teach my husband how to support me during birth and advocate for me.

I plan to give birth at Holy Redeemer hospital. I have insurance and want everything through insurance. I want my birth experience to be without an epidural if I can and to hopefully push my babies out but I’m okay with needing a c section if necessary. Want to try different pushing positions that are safe other then pushing while laying on my back.
