We’re doing a hospital birth, but haven’t decided on medication. Our est. budget is around 2000. We’re hoping for someone experienced and patient with first time parents that also has knowledge or access to a network that can consult on lactation, night nanny services, etc. Insurance is BlueCross BlueShield Anthem.

I am expecting my first baby after 5 years of infertility/IVF and a previous miscarriage. I will most likely require a planned C section due to previous fibroid removal surgeries. I am interested in a doula that has experience with C section that can help me prepare for pre and post needs.

Birth Location: We are planning to give birth at a hospital (likely UCHealth/CU Medicine Highlands Ranch). We are open to working with a doula who is experienced in hospital births and comfortable collaborating with medical teams. We will be delivering @ Rose Medical in Denver. We are looking forward to a doula and a lactation consultant that are covered with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois. Our hope for a doula is someone who can help support us as we are going to try to give birth unmedicated and would like to avoid interventions if possible. However, #1 is, of course, whatever needs to happen to keep me and the baby safe is priority. Even if it goes against my preferences. We just want someone to help support my husband and I as this is our first child. As far as a lactation consultant, we were hoping for support with breast feeding once we are at home with the baby.

I plan to give birth in a hospital. My estimated budget would ideally be no more than $2500. I would ideally like a doula that accepts Kaiser Permanente insurance. My birth plan is to deliver vaginally, unless that is not possible, and to do so with just the use of nitrous oxide and with an epidural as a last resort as I am trying to avoid tearing.
