This is our first child, we're having a boy, and I'm aiming to do an all natural birth at sutter Davis hospital with a midwife! I'm open to an epidural if I really feel as though I can't keep going, but I want to use all possible tools to help me get through the pain. My husband and I are both catholic so we plan on involving prayer in labor and birth, if you'd like to pray with us you're more than welcome! We plan to give birth at Kaiser in Roseville. We will be getting an epidural. We would like the support of the doula during birth, especially during early labor when the doctor is not in the room constantly. After birth we would like someone who does home visits to help with breastfeeding/pumping, and to help mom with postpartum nutrition that is sufficient for breastfeeding but also encourages fat loss. We have Kaiser insurance, which will pay for up to 12 visits and do not want to pay out of pocket for extras. Any newborn and sleep training education the doula can give us during these visits would be greatly appreciated.
