Plan to give birth in the hospital and I don’t have a huge budget but it depends. I don’t have a solid birth plan but i definitely want the epidural and the shots and eye ointment for my baby. I want delayed cord clamping and immediate skin to skin with the baby. No episiotomy unless 1000% necessary. I’m switching to tricare so I’m looking ahead of time for if there is anyone available

I am confident in my plan for an undisturbed physiological birth and so far have had a hard time finding a like-minded midwife or doula, but would love to be supported by a more knowledgeable and experienced woman. We’re especially interested in overnight support after the baby arrives. Since this is our first child, we would really value someone who can help us feel more confident during the newborn stage, support us with nighttime care and feeding routines, and help us understand what is normal as we adjust to life with a new baby. Ideally, we’re looking for someone who can assist with things such as soothing and settling the baby, diaper changes, bottle preparation or bringing the baby to my wife for breastfeeding, burping, helping the baby return to sleep, washing bottles or pump parts, and offering practical guidance when needed. We would also appreciate support that allows my wife to recover and both of us to get more consistent rest. I'm looking for a postpartum doula to help with feeding specifically. I do not need overnight help or help with cooking. I want help with postpartum recovery, bathing a newborn, and making sure my sleep set up is safe. I would prefer to not spend more than $100 an hour.
