About me

Hi! My name is Alexa, I am a Holland native, I am a childbirth educator, and I can't wait to help you along this journey! I became passionate about birth work at about 10 year ago. So far on my journey I have tried my hand as a midwives assistant and as a doula, and have currently found a passion for Childbirth education! Coming from a liberal arts background, earning my History degree from Hope college in 2023, I have a strong foundation in research and critical thinking. This background is what I base all of my Childbirth classes in. More than just an avalanche of information, my classes teach you how to do your own research and think about what is best for you and your family. I have attended trainings in doula support, waterbirth, childbirth education, and am currently in school for nursing as well. Along with all of that, I am constantly learning new information to pass along to you. ​ Please do not hesitate to reach out with questions on any of my offerings!

Service introduction

I offer two types of classes to families, Crash Course and 4 week long classes. All classes are held in person and taught by me, Alexa. Crash Course Classes: I offer Crash Course classes on Pregnancy, Birth, and Postpartum. Each class is about 2 hours long. This is a great option if you have limited time or if this is not your first rodeo and you just need a refresher. Each Crash Course is priced individually. Full Spectrum Childbirth Education: This class is 4 weeks long, each night lasting about 2.5 hours. In this class you will learn about pregnancy, from conception- the last week, birth and everything that goes along with it, preparation for birth and beyond, postpartum, and how to care for baby in the early weeks. We'll cover things from how to choose a provider to best birthing positions and everything in between.
