About me

Hi, I’m Alyssa! I’m a BADT Certified Full Spectrum Doula, and I truly believe every person deserves to feel heard, respected, cared for, and supported throughout their reproductive journey. I’m naturally a loving and compassionate person, and I bring that same energy into the way I care for my clients. Whether you’re preparing for birth, navigating postpartum, or simply need someone in your corner, my goal is to create a safe and nonjudgmental space where you can be yourself, ask questions, express your fears, and feel confident making the choices that are right for you and your family. My philosophy is that this is your experience, your body, your baby, and your choices. I’m not there to tell you how your birth or postpartum journey should look. I’m there to listen, advocate for you, help you understand your options, provide emotional and physical support, and remind you that your voice matters. I’m passionate about reproductive rights and informed decision making, and I believe everyone deserves compassionate support regardless of what their journey looks like. Most importantly, I want the families I work with to feel like they have someone genuinely in their corner who cares about them as a person, not just as a client.

Service introduction

Moore Than Birth Full-Spectrum Doula Support for Every Journey Welcome to Moore Than Birth. I’m Alyssa, a Certified Full Spectrum Doula, and I believe every person deserves to feel heard, respected, informed, and supported throughout their reproductive and postpartum journey. My approach to doula care is centered around you. Your body, your choices, your values, your family, and your vision for your experience. As a full-spectrum doula, I provide compassionate, nonjudgmental support across a wide range of reproductive experiences — including pregnancy, birth, postpartum, cesarean birth, abortion, pregnancy loss, bereavement, adoption, surrogacy, fertility and preconception journeys, and infant-feeding support. Whether you know exactly what you want or you’re still figuring it out, you don’t have to navigate it alone. My role is to provide emotional, physical, informational, and practical support, help you understand your options, encourage informed decision-making, support communication and self-advocacy, and help you feel confident in your ability to make the choices that are right for you. I do not replace your medical providers or make medical decisions for you. Instead, I work alongside your care team while offering the continuous, individualized support that can sometimes be difficult to receive in a clinical setting. What Birth Doula Support Can Include • Prenatal preparation and education • Birth-preference and advocacy preparation • Emotional support throughout pregnancy and birth • Comfort measures and coping techniques for labor • Position changes and movement • Breathing and relaxation techniques • Continuous labor and birth support • Support during medicated or unmedicated birth • Support during induction • Cesarean birth support • Partner support and reassurance • Communication and advocacy support • Help preparing questions for your care team • Immediate postpartum support • Newborn and early postpartum education • Feeding support and education • Postpartum check-in and support • Resource and referral navigation Postpartum Doula Support Postpartum care is about more than simply getting sleep. There are many different kinds of rest a new parent may need — physical rest, mental rest, emotional rest, sensory rest, social rest, spiritual rest, creative rest, and the simple relief of not having to carry everything alone. My postpartum support is individualized to what you and your household actually need. Support may include newborn care education, feeding support, household assistance, emotional support, helping you identify what kind of rest you need, creating space for you to shower or eat, light practical support, and helping you feel more confident as you adjust to life with a new baby. Full-Spectrum Support Your reproductive journey does not have to fit into one specific box to deserve compassionate support. I offer nonjudgmental support through experiences including: • Pregnancy and birth • Postpartum adjustment • Abortion support • Pregnancy loss • Stillbirth and bereavement support • Adoption journeys • Surrogacy journeys • Fertility and preconception support • Infant-feeding education and support • Resource navigation and referrals Whatever your journey looks like, you deserve to be treated with dignity, compassion, and respect.
