NICU nurse/Newborn Care Specialist/Postpartum Doula I have been an RN for 23+ years. 19 years were spent in the NICU. The last 4 years as a newborn/pediatric home care nurse. I am married with two beautiful girls, one is a teenager and the other a young adult. I can be a caregiver for your whole family. I’m a highly qualified and skilled RN with 19 years of NICU/newborn experience, a compassionate human being, caring, loyal, and last but not least, someone to support your whole Family, create an enjoyable experience in the postpartum period, and facilitate healthy habits for you and your baby, as well as help promote the priceless bond between parents and their new sweet peas. What is the Difference Between a Postpartum Doula & a Newborn Care Specialist? During and after childbirth are both incredibly stressful times for new mothers. Whether you are a first-time mom or not, you might have many questions and anxieties regarding how to best care for your child and how to adjust your lifestyle to fit this new arrival. And while a doctor, midwife, or another medical professional will walk you through childbirth and original aftercare, many moms often wish for additional support as they navigate this new step in life. it comes down to what you, as new parents feel you need the most help with! First, we will discuss in great detail what you are looking for, then go from there!

Newborn Care Specialist packages and pricing

Customized for each individual family based on needs.

Daytime hours: 10am-4pm Free consultation. This is to ensure a good fit for the family as well as the caregiver, and to discuss expectations and payments in detail.

$40 USD · Per hour

Overnight hours

8pm-6am

$50 USD · Per hour

What to expect

-Encouraging active participation from both parents in the care of the newborn -LIGHT housekeeping and household organization -Making small meals and running errands -Advocating for the parents in medical situations -Noticing early signs of and helping to manage postpartum depression and anxiety -A postpartum doula’s time with a mother and family ranges from a couple of weeks to roughly three months, depending on their needs. -Breastfeeding and swaddling guidance -Teaching the importance of routines -Overnight or Daytime care for the newborn -Cleaning or sterilizing bottles and breast pumps -Umbilical cord and Circumcision care -Bathing and diapering -Nursery organization -Knowledgeable in developmental milestones and help your baby reach them

Frequently asked questions

Is the cost negotiable?

We can discuss options during the consultation. We will determine the workload and time of day, and I’m sure we can come up with a good fit for everyone!

I only need someone to help me for the first week after my son is born. Is there a minimum time for a “job?”

There is no minimum amount of time required. Whether you need 1 day or night, or 1 month, I can work with that. I can also just come once or twice a week for a couple of hours just to check in and help with what needs to be done that day (or night). Do you just want to get a full night sleep while I feed him/her and get up and change diapers, cuddle him, and help sleep train, that’s great too.

Do you sleep if I need you overnight?

I require a separate guest bedroom and bathroom while I’m in your home. Depending on what is needed during the night, yes. I will sleep in between feeds, but only if my other responsibilities are complete. Again, all of this will be discussed during the consultation.

What if I’m breastfeeding at night but I want nighttime care?

When the baby wakes up to eat, I can bring the baby to you to nurse, then take him back to bed, or I can feed the baby pumped milk via bottle, or formula, depending on what your wishes are. If you want a full night sleep, i will make sure that’s what you receive!
