About Antonia

My name is Antonia, and I am a therapist intern at Your Story Counselling Services under the supervision of Judy Lui, a registered psychotherapist. I am currently a student at Yorkville University in my master's of arts in counselling psychology. I hold a degree in psychology from the University of Toronto and a graduate certificate in infant and early childhood mental health from Seneca College. I have four years of experience working for the school board as a special education assistant with students identified with developmental delays such as Autism and behavioural issues such as Opposition Defiance. I also have volunteer experience in grief and trauma as a patient family care coordinator with the University Health Unit. I hold a degree in psychology from the University of Toronto, and a graduate certificate in infant and early childhood mental health from Seneca College. In my studies, I have learned and practiced CBT, SBT, MBCT, and TBCT choosing these as my therapeutic preferences. I aim to pursue my professional development through the practicum experience and create a non-judgemental safe space where clients can feel free to express themselves and build on their strengths. It is my belief that we all possess the ability and capability to break through barriers and overcome obstacles in a collaborative journey towards mental wellness and personal success.

Virtual or In-Person Session

60 minute therapy session to build on goals to address concerns of mental health wellness and life coaching skills. We will work together to uncover your story and where you want to take it.

What to expect

Finding a therapist and starting your therapeutic journey is the first step to mental health wellness. My name is Antonia Nimpo and my goal is to work together with you as a client to find your strengths in times of crisis and build your confidence to overcome the obstacles in your way of well-being. Opening up to another person about yourself is hard, but together in confidentiality and respect, we can reach a cooperative plan to achieve your personal goals for success. In the past, working with children with developmental delays and behavioural issues, it is key to share trust and confidence in each other's ability, to build on strength-based therapy and present mindfulness, to break through barriers to successful and balanced well-being. I look forward to connecting with you via Your Story Counselling Services under the supervision of Director Judy Lui while I complete my professional counselling internship with Yorkville University.
