About me
My name is Bella! I use they/them pronouns and I’m in my early 20s. I’m Two-Spirit and I’m a member of Biinjitiwaabik Zaaging Anishinaabek/Rocky Bay FN. I’ve been a Kamloopsian for 2 years, and I live with my fiancee and our beautiful kitty Daisy. My background is in childcare. I loved working with kids, but loved working with families one-on-one even more, and eventually moved on to child development and frontline cultural support. It was there that I started working with newborns and pregnant people. Seeing the need for perinatal support in our community encourages me to do this work and support families.

The Connection (Abortion/Loss)
(This package is intended for clients who have experienced pregnancy or infant loss/need pre or post-abortion* support. Price is sliding scale, $80-120.)
*Abortion referring to the termination of a pregnancy for any reason.

Emotional and/or spiritual support over a healing warm beverage, from an experienced birthworker that has seen and supported loss from all angles, including abortion for any reason and early-term miscarriage. You lead this visit. We can smudge, do a loss ritual, or just talk. First visit includes a small gift to support your wellness.

Then, two hours of light cleaning while you nap, shower, or go for a walk (something taking care of you). Finally, about an hour of reconnecting and conversation after, and support with creating a self-care plan OR another type of plan depending on your needs and goals.
Future "Connection" services 20% off, in case you need to chat again. (And free text conversation if you need a quick supportive ear, or to ask a question about something that was talked about in your session. This is within reason, please.)

The Hourly (Babysitting)
Hourly rates for special care babysitting for your newborn. Sessions must be at least 2 hours, and 5% off on 6 hours or more!
$32/hour before 7 pm, $35/hour until 7 am

(This package is intended for clients who are postpartum. This can be a solo service, or add-on to an existing service at a discount. Price is sliding scale, $170-210.)
~6 hour visit
One hour of conversation and needs assessment, with postpartum/newborn education and teachings, and emotional support. Then, four hours of watching baby and lightly cleaning, while you sleep, shower, or go for a walk (anything taking care of you). Finally, about an hour of reconnecting and conversation after, including a summary of the babycare during your break, and support with creating a self-care plan OR another plan depending on your needs and goals.

3 x ~6 hours
Three seperate "The Reset" visits (see package), about a week apart. You choose the times and dates that work best for you (day availability depends on birth caseload). Follow up visits will include individualized care and support catered to your needs. Teachings/education/conversation portions of visit may be joined by a partner or support person.

9 x ~6 hours
Nine "The Reset" visits, (see package) able to be used however you want! You choose the times and dates that work best for you (day availability depends on birth caseload). Visits have a shortened conversation/education portion (unless client asks for otherwise), and care time is extended to 4 and a half hours, and can even be later extended to 5 and a half hours if requested. Follow up visits will include individualized care and support catered to your needs. Teachings/education/conversation portions of visit may be joined by a partner or support person.

24/7 on call support from 38 weeks.
Labour support from the bridging (between early and active) stage, including: partner support, pain management and comfort support, and advocacy, all in a variety of birth settings.
Amateur birth and newborn photos!
Post-birth and as needed home transition support, with early parenting and newborn care education.
1 post-partum "The Reset" visit (see package), and a discount on future services.

The Spark (Pregnancy)
(This package is intended for clients who are pregnant. Price is sliding scale, $80-120.)
~1-2 hours.
Childbirth education, emotional and/or spiritual support, birth "planning"/preparation, and general conversation over a warm beverage. This can be an add-on to other services or seperate.
*2-3 prenatal visits are recommended in general, but not mandatory!

The Preparation (Pregnancy)
(This package is intended for clients who are pregnant. Price is sliding scale, $300-415.)
~5 hours
One hour of conversation, with pregnancy/labour/postpartum education, and emotional and/or spiritual support. Then, around three and a half hours of lightly cleaning and watching any younger siblings while you sleep, shower, or go for a walk (anything taking care of you). Finally, a quick moment of reconnecting and conversation after, including a summary of the childcare during your break. I also bring with me 3 large nutritious meals for your freezer, easy to reheat during post-partum!
*Please have a cleared out freezer so that there is space for meal storage!

Frequently asked questions
Are you a: midwife, doctor, nurse, therapist, counselor, or another type of medical practitioner or clinical support worker?
No! All of my work is non-clinical, within the scope of a full-spectrum Indigenous birthworker, doula, and auntie.
I only do what I have the training or cultural competency to do within this scope. I may sometimes provide advice or recommendations. This is only evidence-based and again, within my scope and knowledge of practice, backed by research and resources.
I do not and will never perform examinations, prescribe medications, or diagnose conditions or symptoms.
I will always refer out and give resources when I recognize something that is out of my scope.
