I plan to give birth at the USC Keck Hospital in Arcadia, CA. I am seeking a doula because I find that the appointments with my OB are very short and most of the time, I’m unable to ask all of the questions I want to ask (simply because I only remember the questions once I’ve left the office and am in the parking lot!) I really like my OB, so want to keep her, but think having someone to support me in preparing for and actual childbirth would be very helpful. I don’t necessarily have a birth plan ready, and hope that a doula could assist me in that. I don’t plan on having a natural childbirth but am open to suggestions. I am unsure of what a doula costs, so I am hoping to get more answers here in terms of what fits with our budget. Thank you!

I plan to give birth at kaiser baldwin park. I have doula coverage under kaiser foundation health plan insurance. I had a bad experience with an epidural and with latching and would like support in those areas. First child had lip/tongue tie and difficulty latching, I had flat nipples and difficulty pumping. I would like another epidural. My husband may be with our child during/after birth so would like extra support if that happens.
