Planning to give birth in a hospital, tricare should completely cover costs for a doula, no birth plan established yet, at least 5 years of doula experience is preferred, my wife's age is 22 and she is a type 1 diabetic meaning it is a high-risk pregnancy. Requirements from Tricare for doulas: A current certification from one of the following: BirthWorks International, Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association (CAPPA), Doulas of North America (DONA) International, International Childbirth Education Association (ICEA), ToLABOR, or National Black Doulas Association (NBDA). Participation in a qualified, statewide Medicaid program may be recognized in lieu of one of these national certifications. We are first time parents and plan to give birth at Rose Hospital in Denver, CO. We are looking for a birth doula to help coach mom through birth and serve as an advocate for us and our birth plan. We’re also looking for support in education prior to birth to help us develop our birth plan and enable us to make I formed decisions.

I’m super nervous and it’s kinda scary to me. I am excited as well just trying to deal with anxiousness.

I plan on giving birth at UCHealth’s University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora, CO. I am looking to obtain doula services through my health insurance (Anthem BCBS). I am still working on my birth plan but would like to find a doula that can assist with birth and postpartum. This is my first baby and unplanned, we are planning to birth at Littleton Adventist hospital. I reside in Lakewood and we are hoping for someone to help guide us through the process of pregnancy and how to plan for birth and after birth and an additional support person there for birth to help execute my hopes for a birth plan even when things go a different way. I love a holistic approach but have some health complications so we chose a MD rather than a midwife so hoping the doula is able to help us find a balance between the two wishes. The care is for me and baby but also dad will be there and is eager to learn so would love him to be included. We have both united healthcare and medicaid and really just hoping to use those two insurances to cover majority of our cost.
