I am currently in my 24th week of pregnancy, and have so far had a smooth pregnancy. My due date is July 13, 2026 and I plan to give birth at St. Peter's hospital in Albany, NY. We are open to budget, but would like to stay under $3,000. I am not sure if I will need a lactation consultant, but wanted to look at options and learn more so I can make an informed decision about it. My birth plan is to ideally be minimally medicated, and not have a full epidural. I would like to be able to get up and walk around, use the bathroom, and switch birthing positions based on what feels comfortable with minimal limitations. I hope to have a vaginal birth and learn more ways to prepare for a safe one.

I am looking for a provider that is well versed in maternal mental health and post partum depression and anxiety related to transition of a new child. Would have to help with setting systems and routines to alleviate factors that trigger ppd and ppa, as well as work with family on sleep coaching for better overall mental health. Hi - I spoke with my insurance Cigna and they confirmed I have 60 days per calendar year with 16 hours per day during this time for a postpartum home health care for me and my newborn. No prior authorization is required. They didn't call it a doula but they called it a PP home health care. They couldn't give me a list of eligible providers, I kept getting either a list of home health care providers (which included nursing homes or Lenox Hill Radiology) or OBGYNs. I would like to connect and discuss how we can work together.
