I, mother, am about 7-8 weeks along and would prefer a water birth and as natural of a birth as possible. However, dad wants the delivery to be in a hospital as it would be our first. I need help preparing and adjusting to the new addition in our life. There are no qualifications besides basic life support for an emergency. The dad is a paramedic and very paranoid of anything happening.
Shanan is looking for Newborn Care Specialist
Location: Bentonville, AR 72712, USA
Due date or baby's birthday: June 30, 2026
We are looking for an experienced, warm, calm, and highly dependable infant caregiver to join our family beginning in December 2026. This position will primarily focus on the care of our baby, who will be approximately 5 months old at that time. We currently have a full-time nanny who has been with our family for several years and cares for our two older children. We would like to add a dedicated infant caregiver rather than place responsibility for all three children with one nanny. What we’re looking for Our highest priority is finding someone who is genuinely excellent with babies and has a calm, patient, emotionally regulated demeanor. We want someone who remains composed when a baby is fussy, naps don’t go according to plan, schedules change, or multiple things are happening around the household. The ideal candidate will have significant professional infant experience and be confident independently managing: * Feeding and bottle preparation * Age-appropriate nap and sleep routines * Developmental play, tummy time, and milestone support * Introducing solids when appropriate * Baby laundry and organization * Cleaning and sanitizing bottles, pump parts, and other baby items * Preparing and packing baby’s things for outings * Maintaining a consistent daily routine while also being flexible to baby’s needs * Communicating clearly with parents regarding feeding, sleep, development, and anything notable during the day We are looking for someone who is proactive rather than easily overwhelmed and who can confidently take ownership of the baby’s day while respecting our parenting preferences and routines. Our household We have three children. Another full-time nanny will generally be responsible for the older children, so this is not intended to be a three-child nanny position. There will naturally be interaction and overlap between the caregivers and children, so we’re looking for someone who works well as part of a team and is comfortable in an active family home. One or both parents may occasionally work from home, but we are looking for a caregiver who is confident taking full responsibility for the baby without needing parental direction throughout the day. Schedule Approximately Monday-Friday, 7 a.m.-4:00p.m. We would ideally like someone who can stay with our family through at least the baby’s first year and are open to discussing a longer-term arrangement for the right person. Ideal candidate * Extensive professional experience caring for infants * Infant CPR/First Aid certified * Excellent references * Reliable and punctual * Calm and patient under pressure * Knowledgeable about infant development and age-appropriate routines * Comfortable with breast milk handling and bottle feeding * Good communicator * Organized and proactive * Comfortable working alongside another nanny * Interested in becoming a trusted, consistent presence in our family’s life We are less concerned with finding someone who simply has many years of childcare experience and more interested in finding someone with the right temperament, strong infant-specific experience, sound judgment, and a naturally calm presence. We are a warm, involved family and hope to find someone who will care for our baby with the same attentiveness, patience, and affection we would provide ourselves. Compensation anticipated at $25–$35/hour depending on experience, with flexibility for an exceptional infant-care candidate
