About me

My name is Bethany Ahrend, and I operate in and around Kennewick, Washington. I am in the process of getting my Postpartum Doula certification, but I have 10 years of child/infant/newborn experience as a full time nanny. We all need a little help sometimes, and caring for a newborn can be overwhelming on your own. I am happy to step in as an extra set of hands to make sure everyone is happy and well rested, to make the transition from birth to home life a little easier. I am looking forward to working with you as you start this beautiful new chapter of life.

Service introduction

My services are evening and overnight care for newborns, to provide parents a chance to get proper rest. I am also willing to discuss household tasks, such as light housekeeping, laundry, and meal prep. Hours are negotiable within reason. I want to make it work if I can! Unfortunately, I cannot accommodate Saturdays at this time. (For homes more than 20 miles from Kennewick, WA, a fuel fee of $3 per additional mile, will be applied.)

Packages

Overnight. 1 - 3 nights per week.

This package is 11 hours, 8:00pm - 7:00am. Newborn care, meal prep, and light housekeeping.

6 hours, 2:00pm - 8:00pm. Newborn care. Light housekeeping. This is your opportunity to nap, shower, run an errand or go out with a friend, and just take care of you, while your newborn is looked after.

Frequently asked questions

Are prices negotiable?

I am always willing to discuss a reasonable adjustment to prices and come to an agreement that feels fair to both parties. However, I do ask that parents consider the scope of tasks I will be performing and the hours in which I will be working (overnight), as well as my 10 years of newborn/infant/childcare experience.

What is "light housework"?

I would consider light housework to be sweeping, wiping down surfaces, a quick mop, and tidying where needed. I will also vacuum during Sunday shifts if desired, as those hours start earlier in the day.

How long will I provide care?

There is no minimum number of weeks required to book with me, so if you only need me for one shift and then never again, that's totally fine! However I do have a maximum limit of 12 weeks.
