My baby latches well and has regained their birth weight, but I don’t think they’re getting enough milk from breastfeeding alone. After every nursing session, I need to supplement with formula—about 480 mL (16 oz) per day total. I’m breastfeeding about 8 times a day and pumping with a Medela pump after feeds. I usually pump about 1.5–2 oz after nursing. I’d like help determining whether the issue is low milk supply, ineffective milk transfer, or both. I’d also like a weighted feed to measure how much milk my baby transfers during breastfeeding, an assessment of my baby’s latch and oral function, confirmation that my pump flange size is correct, and a plan to safely increase my milk supply while gradually reducing formula if appropriate.

Hello, my name is Tatyanna. I’m currently looking for a lactation consultant. Ima a breast-feeding/pumping mom mostly pumping. I am three months and a few days postpartum. My journey has been up and down since birth. I currently make maybe 6 ounces to 10 ounces the most a day I pump about every 2 1/2 to 3 hours. I’m looking for some help figuring out what’s going on. I’ve tried changing pump pieces flame size eating drinking good I did have some blood work done recently. Thyroid levels came back high and iron levels came back low. I’m currently taking some iron Gummies and I do have an appointment coming up to talk to my doctor about my thyroid levels but wanted to see if I can get any assistance. My baby does latch but after 2 to 5 minutes of being latched on he gets fussy and then I would have to put him on the other boob and then after 2 to 5 minutes, he will get fussy again then I would have to substitute with formula after because I’m not making enough. Even when I pump I make maybe an ounce to an ounce and a half combining. i’m still taking prenatal vitamins. I’m just not sure what’s going on and I don’t wanna give up. looking for a lactation consultant who has many years of experience speaks English.
