I plan to give birth in a hospital. My budget for a doula is 2k. My birth plan would be to labor at home for a while and then drive to Manchester memorial hospital to give birth because I believe they are the most vba2c supportive in Connecticut with the midwives affiliated there.

Hi , I’m Marissa. I’m 25 years old and I’m due October 24th 2026. My husband and I are having a baby girl. I am interested having a doula through my Medicaid Insurance. I just really need the basics of just an extra advocate to be there in the hospital. I think it’s the smartest decision to have someone else besides my husband advocating for me if hospital gives me push back. I am planning to do an unmedicated birth , with free moving and switching positions. I believe if you are stressed and only allowed to be just on your back it doesn’t promote a smooth delivery. I really want to stick with my beliefs unless it’s a serious emergency . I want the experience to be as natural as possible unless it’s urgent.

I definitely plan on getting an epidural for pain management, but I still want the experience to feel as calm and supported as possible. My budget is around $800–$1,500, depending on what’s included. I’m open to some flexibility if it’s a really good fit and includes prenatal and postpartum support. For my birth plan, I’m hoping for a smooth vaginal delivery, but I’m also realistic and open to whatever is safest for me and the baby. Since I plan on getting an epidural, I’d really like someone who can help me stay relaxed, guide me through the process, and support both me and my partner during labor. Communication is really important to me—I want to understand what’s happening and feel involved in decisions.
