Hi, My wife is currently 28 weeks pregnant. She is struggling with feelings of overwhelmingness, which stems from her worrying about her own hearlth, our baby's health, and carrying out every day tasks. I (husband) am working right now and she stays at home with a dog that's 1 years old. We recently moved to the Van Nuys area, so it's been an adjustment settling in. She is also planning a baby shower, which has been a huge source of stress. She is pre-diabetic and has been very carefully monitoring her blood sugar levels, which is another source of stress. I plan to give birth in the hospital, with Kaiser. I am considered high risk due to my age, 40. This is my first birth. My provider has suggested induction may be recommended.

I plan to give birth at. Hospital and it’s my first baby. I was informed about doula to help make sure I give birth in a comfortable safe environment away from pressure from the doctor. I heard that my health insurance might cover it. I don’t want to be induce to give birth if my baby isn’t ready on the due date given. I am absolutely open to pain medications/necessary interventions, but I do have some fear in hospitals and I don't necessarily trust the medical system 100%.
