Hello! I am planning for a hopeful birth next August 2027! I am looking for a doula to support my wife during the pregnancy journey as well as post partum support; mainly night nursing for 8-12 weeks after birth. My wife is southeast Asian and so we are looking for professionals who can provide care within that cultural context. Additionally, we have suffered unknown recurrent pregnancy loss and so are seeking a professional who can provide trauma informed support. We plan to have the baby in Santa Barbara, and care would mainly revolve around guiding and assisting my wife emotionally/informationally throughout the pregnancy, as well as providing basic night nurse services for roughly 3-4 days per week the 8-12 weeks following birth. Fluency in Indonesian is preferred but not mandatory. Request NCS and/or postpartum certification, require infant first aid certification and up to date immunizations.

I’m hoping for as natural of a birth as possible, but I’m also open to changing plans if it’s what’s safest for me or my baby. More than anything, I’m looking for someone who will help me feel informed, confident, and supported throughout the process. My partner will be with me during labor, and I’d love a doula who works well alongside partners and helps us both feel prepared. I’m looking for someone who provides emotional support, comfort measures, guidance through labor positions and breathing techniques, and gentle advocacy so we can make informed decisions together. Because this is our first baby, it’s important to me to build a trusting relationship before birth. I’d love to learn about your experience, what’s included in your services, how you support clients during labor, and whether you offer prenatal and postpartum visits. Seeking a night nanny/night nurse/night doula for our newborn baby boy for only 2 or 3 nights a week, from around 9pm to 5am -- we are flexible with the selected days, but ideally they'd be spaced apart and not consecutive. We also have a 2.5 year old toddler, so my husband and I have begun the "divide and conquer" strategy, but I'm still struggling to string together 2-3 hours of sleep at a time with the newborn, which is putting a big strain on my mental and physical health. I am breastfeeding + pumping, so while I still need to "wake up" every 3-4 hours to express milk, having someone bring baby or the breastpump to me and then handle the rest would be so helpful. We have an entire downstairs living room/kitchen area that has a baby basinet and all the necessary newborn supplies, so that's where you'd be overnight, alongside our very sweet medium sized dog, George. We live in La Crescenta and are looking for someone to help ASAP, this weekend if possible. Our ideal budget is $45/hour.
