My name is Rebecca Gordon. I am the founder of Mindful Family Wellness, Certified Labor Doula, Postpartum Doula, Certified HypnoBirthing® Childbirth Educator, a North Carolina Licensed Nutritionist, Certified Nutrition Specialist, and Certified Placenta Arts Specialist. I live just north of Charlotte, NC, in the Lake Norman area with my husband, 4 daughters, and lots of fur babies. As a doula and nutritionist whose practice serves the Charlotte and Lake Norman areas of North Carolina, I support birthing people improve their overall health, birth outcome, and mental wellness through the experiences of pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. I use such tools and services as childbirth education classes, doula support through pregnancy, labor/birth and postpartum, as well as nutritional guidance and education for both mother and baby. Providing these services has been shown to increase positive birth outcomes, reduce cesarean section births, reduce postpartum mental disorders such as postpartum depression/anxiety (PPD/A) and postpartum post-traumatic stress disorder, (PPTSD) increase breast/chest-feeding success and duration, and strengthen the holistic health of both parent and child. As you can see, I offer a number of different services. As a NC Licensed Nutritionist, I provide integrative and functional nutrition counseling for the entire family. I also provide doula support, including pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I am a Hypnobirthing® childbirth educator and have new classes starting monthly. The beauty of providing these services is that I can help you in one area or in many. I can see you or your family for nutritional guidance. I can see you for pregnancy and birth support, as a doula. Or we can combine these services. The possibilities are endless.

Hi, I’m Marie McKenzie, also known as Dr. Soul — a holistic practitioner specializing in subconscious reprogramming, soulful healing, and nurturing the family dynamic as a full-spectrum doula. I’ve been walking this path since 2022, and I’ve deeply fallen in love with female anatomy and feminine energy. I take pride in sharpening my knowledge and staying current in maternal health studies. In my work, I blend the scientific and spiritual, honoring the sacred transitions families move through during pregnancy, birth, and beyond. I help nurture the familial foundation of my clients, ensuring both parents are emotionally, mentally, and physically prepared to welcome the new soul entering their lives. Within the safe space we co-create, you’ll feel held, informed, and empowered as you navigate your birth and postpartum journey. I’m here to advocate for you and ensure that you — and your support system — understand your rights and feel confident making informed decisions. As a practitioner, I meet each client exactly where they are and approach my work with deep intentionality, ensuring you receive not just what you asked for — but what you didn’t know you needed. Would you honor me with the opportunity to walk with you during this sacred chapter of your life?

A Sacred Homecoming After 20 Years” I didn’t know how much I needed this. It’s been over 20 years since I gave birth, and yet my body—my womb—had been holding things I didn’t even realize. Grief. Silence. Stories. Experiencing the Closing Bones Ceremony with Dr. Soul was like being wrapped in love and truth all at once. She held space with such deep reverence, like she was listening not just to my words but to the parts of me I forgot how to speak from. This wasn’t just about healing from birth—it was about honoring the journey I never paused to feel. I walked away feeling lighter, more whole, more connected to myself as a woman. Dr. Soul’s spiritual presence, her grounded energy, and her ability to see beyond the surface—it’s something rare. This ceremony was closure, yes. But also rebirth. If you’re holding unspoken stories in your body, even decades later, let her guide you back home to yourself.

I’m currently a ProDoula Certified Labor Doula (CD-L) + A Dona International Certified Doula (CD). I am also a Certified Fertility Doula (CFD), Reproductive Health Specialist (RHS), Postpartum Doula (PPD), Newborn Care Specialist (NCS), and Infant Feeding Specialist (IFS). I know it’s a mouthful but it was all totally worth it. I support unmedicated and medicated births and believe they are both outstandingly beautiful. I also specialize in working with LGBTQ+ families. I am obsessed with multiples as a result of my younger twin siblings, Claire and Cooper. Thankfully, my obsession has led me to experience some amazing twin and triplet births (vaginal and cesarean). I also fully support and love those who birth their babies from their bellies. I now offer planned cesarean support as well! I have been trained in a variety of comfort measure techniques including, rebozo, acupressure, massage, guided meditation, and aromatherapy. I am a certified Hypnobabies Hypno-Doula. Additionally, I have significant experience with clients using other forms of Hypnosis for birth. I have a fierce desire to help clients who struggle with walking a unique fertility path. As the first Fertility Doula in Charlotte, NC, I know just how much support surrounding fertility complications and infertility is needed in our community. I have recently started organizing a collective of doulas committed to offering support to families and individuals undergoing any fertility assistance. Fertility work has led me to find passion in also supporting families with surrogates and those going through surrogacy. Breastfeeding/Chestfeeding, pumping, supplementing, and formula feeding are all journeys that I’m in full support of and have significant experience with as well. Cultivating an environment where you can bond with your baby, no matter how you feed them, is one of my favorite things to curate for clients. I’ve always loved supporting people - the deeply and passionately really truly type of love. There is nothing that has ever compared to feeling like I’m living my purpose. Being a doula isn’t what I am meant to do. Being a doula is what I was born to do.
