Christina Royster Birth & Postpartum Doula in Hampstead, NC
About Christina
I've been drawn to birth since middle school, when I woke up early every morning to watch A Baby Story before class. Years later, I supported my own mother through two of my siblings' births, and I was my mentor's doula when I was 19. Those experiences taught me that the most important thing a birthing person can feel is safe: physically safe, emotionally safe, and sure that their voice matters in every room they enter. I first trained as a doula in 2019 and am now completing DONA certification in both labor and postpartum support. My philosophy is simple. Pregnancy and the postpartum season are when mothers are most vulnerable, so that's when they deserve the most care. I'm not here to make your choices for you. I'm here to help you understand your options, speak up for yourself, and feel comfortable and supported however your birth unfolds. As an Air Force veteran and a Black woman in coastal North Carolina, I'm especially committed to military families and Black mothers, who too often go through this season without the support they deserve. Whether this is your first baby or your fifth, I'll show up steady, informed, and fully on your side.
Birth & Postpartum Doula services
I offer support through every stage of your journey, from pregnancy through those tender first weeks at home. Labor Support: We'll meet before your birth to talk through your hopes, fears, and preferences, and I'll help you understand your options so you can make informed decisions. Once labor begins, I'm with you continuously, offering comfort measures, position ideas, reassurance, and help communicating with your care team. I stay through the first hours after birth to help with early feeding and settling in. Postpartum Support: The fourth trimester is when mothers are most vulnerable and often least supported. I come to your home to help with feeding, newborn care, rest, light household tasks, and emotional check-ins, so you can recover and bond with your baby. I'll also connect you with local resources if you need extra help. Placenta Encapsulation: For families who choose it, I prepare your placenta into capsules with careful attention to safety and hygiene. Every family is different, so I tailor my support to your needs, your birth setting, and your beliefs. My goal is for you to feel safe, informed, and cared for every step of the way.
