My preference is an unmedicated vaginal birth, though I am open to an epidural and other interventions if labor calls for it. Because this is my first birth, I am looking for a doula who uses a fact- and evidence-based approach to help me and my partner navigate the labor process with clear data, statistics, and calm guidance. My main priorities for support are guidance through physical pain relief techniques, evidence-based informational support, and strong, seamless advocacy within a hospital setting. We are expecting twin boys in December and are looking for an experienced postpartum doula or newborn care specialist for overnight support in Manhattan. Ideally, we would like help 4–5 nights per week, approximately 10–12 hours per night, for the first 1-2 months after delivery. We are specifically looking for someone with strong newborn experience, preferably someone who has cared for twins overnight independently. Support would include feeding, burping, diaper changes, soothing, bottle washing/preparation, and helping establish a safe sleep routine so that my husband and I can get some rest. Experience with premature or early-term babies would be a plus. CPR certification and references are preferred. We are flexible on the exact schedule and would love to discuss availability, experience with twins, and rates. Japanese-speaking would be a plus, but is not required.
