Hi! This is my first pregnancy and delivery. I am planning to give birth at Advent Health’s UChicago at Hinsdale. I was looking for doula services that would be covered by my Medicaid’s BCBS Community health insurance. My hope is to have a vaginal delivery. I believe a doula can be my source of the much needed guidance, assistance, and strength I’ll require experiencing labor and delivery for the first time. Hi! I wanted to share a little about the support I’m hoping for during labor. I’d really like to try for an unmedicated birth if possible, so having help with breathing, positioning, and counter pressure during contractions would mean a lot. My priorities are being able to move freely, delivering in the position I choose, delayed cord clamping, and keeping interventions minimal if everything is safe. I’d also love a calm, dark, peaceful environment. My pregnancy has IUGR, so there’s a chance I may need to deliver earlier than expected. I’m hoping for someone who can support me emotionally, help advocate for me if needed, and also guide my partner on how he can best support me during labor. In Franklin- Looking for a nanny roughly 8-10 hours a week who is good with babies for our 3-month-old. (Tuesdays/Thursdays to start). Someone we could hopefully also call on for babysitting at night maybe once a month. We want someone with lots of experience, as we are first time parents and appreciate having someone with baby experience to help guide us at times too. Getting support myself as a first time mom with PPA is a big plus. For example, someone that I could trust with the “is this normal?” texts. Need a pet lover as we have 1 dog and 3 cats. Hello, My name is Megumi and I’m writing this inquiry from Japan. My sister who lives in Illinois gave a birth the day before yesterday. Since I live overseas and unable to fly out there for the time being to help her I’m trying to figure out a way I could be of any support for my sister even if I’m physically away. One of the few things could be to help find her an experienced doula since she and he husband are too busy looking after their baby and helping each other now. Not sure what kind of requirements my sister would need but based on my own experience when I had a doula here in Tokyo about 5 years ago I think someone definitely with certification and several years of experience would be a must, and also being able to cook and do basic house cleaning would be ideal. What’s average doula fee is like there? I only had one in Japan so have no idea.

I am looking for a postpartum doula to help me manage my newborn baby's needs. I don't have family in the area and my husband has returned to work and it's challenging for me to keep up with the household and support feeding baby (breastfeeding with supplementation and pumping) regularly because after 2 weeks my baby has not yet gotten back to his birth weight. Help with cooking would also be great. If the doula is covered in-network by my insurance (BCBS PPO) that would be helpful.
