I would like a midwife/doula in the Pittsburgh area. Plan to give birth in the surrounding area. Not familiar with this, need lots of help Someone who speaks Spanish is a plus!

I would love the option to give birth at home. A water birth would be a dream come true! As far as a budget goes, I don’t even know what this normally would cost so I’ll say around $4k but there is flexibility to that if I’m being unrealistic. My birth plan would be to have my third, unmedicated birth in the comfort of our home with worship music playing, my two older daughters (6 & 12) nearby and my husband at my side.

Hello. I’m looking for an experienced person. This is my first, I’m 23 years old and a bit nervous. I am currently looking into giving birth at home because I don’t like the hospital system and have had previous issues with my prenatal staff at GEISINGER. I’m new to a lot of this and just looking at where to go.

We need a local midwife to provide care during pregnancy. We are not interested in holistic methods, but wld prefer as natural of a home birth as possible. If conditions during birth were questionable as far as safety for mom or baby we wld like to go to the hospital.

I need to find a licensed mid-wife to help with an at home water birth. My budget is in 200-400 as this is my first time giving birth, have no clue what anyone charges!! I will get all the supplies that will be needed, I just need a mid-wife that’s licensed and knows what they are doing to assist!! So far as we know I am low-risk and have been dreaming of an at home water birth all natural!! I have no clue what mid-wife’s charge so I just did an estimation!! I have been doing research for at home births for over a year now and that is my main goal!!

I am not pregnant currently but planning for my 2nd baby and wanting a VBAC. Wondering if any midwives are experienced with a Vbac and if they only do them if births are 18 months apart or does anyone do them if closer together? I want a physiologic birth this time like I planned for but wasn’t able to have with my 1st in a hospital. Exploring options! Thank you!

Hello Rachel, I hope this finds you well. My baby is due to come soon. (Nov 23rd) but I'm interested in possibly switching providers. Would you be willing to discuss my options with you? I am 35 weeks as tomorrow (October 19th) I do have Gestational Diabetes (I manage through diet) and I'm 42 years old. My current OB has just scheduled me for my induction and I'm not very happy with the process. This will be my 2nd delivery. My 1st pregnancy I also had GD and had to be induced. I am looking to do either a homebirth or at a birthing center as my last experience at a hospital was not pleasant. I am looking for a more free style birth where I can move around comfortably.

This is my fourth baby and I’ve no previous complications with this pregnancy or prior ones. We are looking into the idea of delivering at home. After delivering I like to just spend time with baby and dad and count down the minutes til we can go home so as long as the baby is healthy we just want the first few days out of the hospital and with our family. We aren’t sure what to expect budget wise

I’ve had 3 miscarriages in the last 5 years. My fourth pregnancy, 2 years ago was a healthy, full term baby who is now 2 and doing amazing with no complications during my pregnancy or my delivery. I’m now 21 weeks pregnant with my second son and my experience with UPMC has been nothing but stressful and uninformative. My charts have yet to be corrected for the last 2- 3 months I’ve been going to them. I’m at the point where I don’t feel like my doctors are listening or caring about my wishes/concerns. I am starting to lean towards a home birth with minimal intervention. With my son I got to 9 1/2 cm dilated before I got my epidural last minute and had no issues or barely any discomfort with my contractions. This one is a bit more uncomfortable and I would like to try to do the same as before but without medicine. I have no issue going to a birthing center if need be, I know the travel home with my last hurt me a lot so I was hoping to minimize the distance of travel for my second time around. I also had issues with my son latching for breastfeeding and went to see a lactation consultant twice but she took over an hour to come see us each time which resulted in my son screaming of hunger so I would end up bottle feeding him before she’d come as she took too long and then refused to help us when she heard he was bottle fed so I would like to learn more about breastfeeding if possible either through classes or having someone help me after birth. Our budget is probably $2500-4000. I’m not sure what my insurance covers but would love to look into it more with someone if we can. I’m at the point where I don’t trust my current providers, as too much has gone wrong or missed and I just want to cancel all appointments until I give birth so I’m hoping this is a better alternative for me.
