Lauren Coulardot

Hello! I'm Lauren Coulardot, a DONA International Birth Doula and the founder of Birthing with Lauren LLC, located in Logan Ohio, serving a 70-mile radius in Central & Southeast Ohio. I am dedicated to providing continuous support to all families Whether you are planning a medicated, unmedicated, or surgical birth, I bring professional training and a calming presence to the birth space, ensuring you have the information and encouragement needed to make the best decisions for your body and your baby. Prior to becoming a Birth Doula, I spent years working in Early Childhood Education. This professional background gave me a unique perspective on family dynamics and child development, reinforcing the truth that supporting children begins with supporting their parents. I realized that a positive start could make a world of difference, which inspired me to shift my focus to the birth room. I am deeply passionate about supporting others and look forward to being there to walk with you through your journey. Support is just a click away!

From the moment I had the initial interview with Lauren, I instantly clicked with her and knew she had to be part of my birth team! The knowledge, resources, and support she provided gave me a greater sense of confidence to approach birth and early motherhood while her calm, gentle, and reassuring presence allowed both my partner and I to feel physically and emotionally supported. She made me feel so seen and heard throughout pregnancy and postpartum. Her work is passionate and intentional. I am so grateful to have had Lauren as my doula!

Hi friend! I am one of the co-founders of The Village Doulas, a group of birth work and child care experts. We aim to create a village around all parents to help them thrive. My background is in Pediatric Nursing and special education, ranging from wellness pediatric care to a specialized ventilator unit, I have seen a lot! I have known for a long time it is my calling and blessing to help others raise their babies. I believe all of my experiences led me to be doing that as a doula today! I can't wait to get to know you!

I started thinking about hiring a night nurse or nanny before I even got pregnant again, but never in a million years did I think I would actually meet someone I felt like I could truly trust with my baby (especially after suffering severe postpartum anxiety with my first) - that was until I met with Kinsey. I immediately felt a connection with her and after chatting for a bit, knew without a doubt I could count on her to care for my baby. Not only did she have the right background, but hearing her “why” behind starting this business helped seal the deal for me. Kinsey truly has a passion for not only caring for babies, but us mamas as well. After Kinsey left our interview, my husband and I decided to sign a 6 week contract with her. During those 6 weeks, she was unavailable for 2 of them due to traveling (this was disclosed ahead of time during our meeting). She let me know she had a couple other options for us to cover for her during that time, although she was the only pediatric RN. Kinsey knew how much this put me at ease, and she even asked if I wanted to meet one of her colleagues at her doctors office to cover for her, which I thought was very thoughtful! However, I decided I would still like to meet her business partner, Kati and see how I felt. Fast forward to my meeting with Kati, and once again, the moment I met her I felt an instant trust and connection. It was within minutes that I knew I could count on her to cover for Kinsey while she was out of town. 6 weeks later, our contract was up and we decided to renew with Kinsey for an additional month. Of course, shortly after signing, our little guy decided he wanted to pretty much sleep through the night (which I also attribute to Kinsey helping with)! While this was amazing for us, it was also a little frustrating as we juuuust extended our contract. However, Kinsey made sure we were still benefitting from her services at this time. She was not only flexible when it came to days/times, but she helped me with so many projects on my to-do list that I just could never get to caring for a toddler and a newborn - and she put genuine effort and thought into the help too! She helped me with an amazing toy rotation/organization system for my toddler, meal prepped quick and easy meals and snacks for her that I could freeze, and even helped me update all of our photo frames in the living room. Whether she was doing overnight sleep care or something else for us, she truly wanted to make sure she was helping to make this postpartum period as stress free as possible for us as a family. I truly believe that because of Kinsey (and Kati), I escaped postpartum anxiety fueled by lack of sleep this time around. I was able to truly enjoy the newborn stage as a well rested mom without feeling utterly exhausted for months on end like I did the first time around. I was able to wake up feeling refreshed and ready to actually enjoy the day with both my newborn and my 2 year old. My husband and I weren’t snapping on each other from being so tired and waking up all night with a fussy baby. While I know it is a bit of a luxury to be able to hire this kind of help, it is worth every.single.penny. Whether you already have the funds to do it or you have to make certain sacrifices to do it, I’d recommend Kinsey and her services a MILLION times over. You just can’t put a price on rest and mental health (especially during those first few months) and having someone you can truly trust to care for your baby is priceless. 10/10 would recommend Kinsey and The Village Doulas.

Jessica is an absolute gift. She walked with me from prenatal to delivery and I am forever grateful for that. Jessica communicated quickly and thoughtfully when I needed her virtually, offering advice and encouragement when I needed it most. When she arrived during labor, she became everything I needed. She was able to read the room and mood to know if I needed encouragement or options or if I just needed to vent or cry. The way she carries herself with her knowledge, the nurses and providers also respected her which created the most joyous environment for birth. I wasn’t able to see her during delivery but I could hear her words of encouragement ringing through the room. One of my other supporter persons told me Jessica jumped for joy when my daughter was born. That’s who she is- someone who knows birth, loves moms, loves birth and will literally jump for joy with you!
