Hello expecting families! My name is Char and I am a Birth/Postpartum Doula, Prenatal Yoga Instructor. Ive supported families through the DSABC and DAFGP. I was a community Doula with Indigenous Health (VCH) and was a Pregnancy outreach worker with BFL. I taught in group, focused on 1:1 sessions and supported Prenatal and Postpartum groups. I worked in healthcare for 9-years, mainly in administration. I supported an array of practitioners working with western medicine, holistic and traditional medicine. This experience allows me to work as a supporting bridge between both worlds, whether you are planning a hospital or home birth. How I show up in this work has a lot to do with my upbringing. I really enjoy care taking for mom during birth and postpartum, as I know it such a beautiful but sensitive time. My nurturing care was taught by my late mother, who I think was an unofficial doula herself.
