About me

Hello everyone! My name is Nora Sihota and I am a certified birth and postpartum doula located in Nanaimo, BC. My main passion in this line of work is to make sure you and your partner enjoy your birth experience to the full extent and having an extra set of hands there to support, I am constantly learning new things as I am new to this line of work and am so excited to support families in this beautiful time of there life. In my free time, I love to spend time with my partner, enjoying the outdoors from my backyard, and crafting.

As a birth and postpartum doula, my priority is ensuring you feel informed, calm, and well-supported through pregnancy, labor, and early parenthood. Having completed my foundational training through Doula School Canada, I am currently completing my practical requirements toward full certification and am actively accepting three birth clients and three postpartum families. Because I am completing my certification requirements, I am offering fully supported birth and postpartum packages at a reduced introductory rate. Certification Birth Doula Package

Continuous support throughout your birth journey at an accessible introductory rate while I complete my certification births. What’s Included: 1 Free Consultation: 30–45 minute phone or video chat to make sure we're a great fit. 2 In-Person Prenatal Visits: Reviewing your birth preferences, practicing physical coping techniques, labor positions, and partner prep. On-Call Support: 24/7 on-call availability starting at 37 weeks through delivery. Continuous Labor & Birth Support: In-person physical, emotional, and informational support throughout active labor and delivery (at home, hospital, or birth center). Immediate Postpartum Care: Remaining 1–2 hours post-birth to assist with initial feeding, skin-to-skin, and settled transition. 1 Postpartum Follow-Up Visit: In-home visit within 1–2 weeks to debrief the birth story, check on recovery, and offer basic infant feeding support.

Postpartum Recovery & Care Hours

Hands-on, practical support in your home during the first few weeks after baby arrives. What’s Included: Emotional & Recovery Support: Listening ear for birth debriefing and postpartum mental health check-ins. Infant Care Assistance: Help with soothing techniques, swaddling, diapering, and bath guidance. Feeding Guidance: Basic chest/breastfeeding positioning or bottle-feeding/pump setup support. Light Household Help: Light tidying, washing pump/bottle parts, baby laundry, and preparing simple, nourishing snacks. Partner & Sibling Support: Easing the transition for the whole family so parents can rest or shower.

Comprehensive end-to-end care from late pregnancy through the fourth trimester. What’s Included: Everything in the Certification Birth Doula Package 12 Hours of Postpartum Support (e.g., 3 shifts of 4 hours each during the first month)
