Hi, I'm Kay! I am a Birth and Postpartum Doula in Cincinnati, Ohio, and a proud member of Marigold Birth Collective. My doula practice is centered around evidence based education, a strong belief that every birth can be improved by support, and a deep passion for learning and advocacy. One of my biggest goals as a doula is to convince the world that all birthing people can use a doula - doulas are not just for unmedicated births, vaginal births, or "crunchy" home births. I DO support those, but I also enthusiastically support medicated births, planned inductions, c-sections, VBACS, and all other flavors of birth. All birth deserves empowerment, education, and advocacy. My personal birth experiences with inductions, epidurals, VBAC, and planned c-section make me particularly suited to support these types of clients. In my free time, I love crafting, wrangling my three sons, and seeing live music with my husband.

I was introduced to this amazing work over 20 years ago and realized my true calling is supporting and empowering families during their postpartum transition. I love the outdoors; my hobbies include hiking, kayaking and camping and I am an avid animal lover. I am also a music and trivia nerd. I am a mom and stepmom to five amazing (adult) children and I look forward to the opportunity of serving your family. As postpartum doulas, my team is here to support and guide you as your family explores this new terrain, commonly referred to as the fourth trimester. This term, coined by Dr. Harvey Karp, denotes the 3 months following your baby’s birth and is a time of great physical and emotional change as your baby(ies) adjusts to life outside the womb. It is also the transition period that families undergo as they adjust to life with a new baby. My team takes pride in providing you space to rest, recover, and bond with your new bundle(s) of joy while providing newborn care and tackling household tasks such as meal preparation, laundry, dishes etc. I offer non-judgemental, evidence-based support for you and your family as we believe parenthood looks different for every family. Our goals are to instill confidence in your decisions and empower you and your family as you navigate your way through the fourth trimester. I’m a mom of three, with a wide range of birth experiences myself. It’s those experiences that allow me to best support the families I work with. Drawing from her former career as a college professor and academic researcher, she uses skills in teaching and mentorship to walk side-by-side with you during these big life transitions. As an Evidence Based Birth® childbirth instructor and compassionate birth doula, Dr. Jodi blends her expertise in public health and her passion for supporting families to bring you quality support and education. With a knack for distilling complex health information into digestible insights, she gives you knowledge and real tools to help you navigate your journey with confidence.
