Hello! I'm a first-time mom who plans on giving birth at Cedar's Sinai, and would like to plan for a vaginal birth. I'm new to this whole process so am not sure exactly what I'll be needing and am mostly just curious if my insurance covers any doula care. My insurance is Aetna Choice POS II, and my ID number is W2834 19281.

I plan to give birth in a hospital setting. I am hoping to get the majority of doula costs reimbursed by my insurance (UnitedHealthCare HMO Gold). I am 15 weeks into my first pregnancy, so I don't have a fully developed birth plan - hoping a doula can help with that! I do know that my goal is to have an unmedicated birth that is as low-intervention as possible. My partner and I did a reciprocal IVF cycle, so I am looking for someone who has experience with queer couples and knows how to use language that isn't heteronormative or super gendered.

I plan to give birth at UCLA Santa Monica. I really don't have much in the budget, maybe a couple thousand. I'm potentially interested in hypnotherapy and aromatherapy, but not opposed to an epidural, and would like a very quiet and calm environment with minimal yelling.
