My name is D. Starr Robins, CPM, and I bring over 15 years of experience supporting birthing people and families through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period with calm, informed, and compassionate care. I am a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) providing holistic, evidence-based midwifery care rooted in respect for physiologic birth, informed choice, and family autonomy. I serve families throughout the Hampton Roads area with comprehensive care that integrates clinical skill, emotional presence, and culturally responsive support. My professional background includes four years of formal midwifery training along with extensive experience as a birth and postpartum doula, monitrice, and perinatal wellness specialist. This foundation allows me to combine skilled clinical assessment with continuous, relationship-centered care throughout pregnancy, labor, birth, and the postpartum transition. I am currently awaiting state licensure and accepting clients with anticipated care beginning upon licensure approval. My approach centers on safety, education, and partnership, ensuring families feel confident, respected, and deeply supported throughout one of life’s most transformative seasons. My goal is to provide personalized midwifery care that honors the physiology of birth while meeting the unique needs of each family I serve.

I offer personalized birth, prenatal, and postpartum support rooted in experience, compassion, and respect for informed choice. With over 15 years in birth work, I support families through pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum period with calm, attentive care. Services are provided within doula and montrice scope and tailored to meet each family’s unique needs, in both in-person and virtual settings.

Montrice Birth Doula Package
Montrice Birth Doula Package includes three prenatal visits (3 one hour visits), birth planning, birth doula care throughout your labor, and three postpartum visits(3 one hour visits). Some clinical assessments are provided such as intermittent fetal heart tone monitoring, blood pressure assessments, assessment of amniotic fluid, ect. No clinical skills will be performed in a hospital setting or once the midwife arrives.

Starr is so much more than a birth doula! She is like family. We met before I had my baby and mentioned I wanted to get my hair braided before I went into labor and she said she's a licensed cosmetologist too, so I asked her to braid my hair at our next appointment and she did not disappoint! Then at the birth she was so knowledgeable and understanding. Me and my family definitely felt safe and secure with her by our side.

Starr is amazing. She was so supportive and knowledgeable. She was able to give me information as the doctors and hospital staff were trying to get me do more than I was comfortable with, my partner was able to decline with confidence. She was able to take a lot of our stress away. I basically feel like she is my sister. When I get pregnant again I pray she be my doula.
