My goal is a supportive, calm environment where I can receive an epidural for pain management but avoid medical induction unless absolutely necessary. My first birth was in a hospital setting and everything went great up until the last couple of hours. I thank having extra support with me could have helped tremendously. 1. I’m interested in having a doula with me at my delivery to help with physical, informational, emotional, advocacy, & partner support. Things such as breathing techniques & massagesc, maybe affirmations or general help with anxiety. Helping me to understand medications & procedures also making sure I’m not being pressured into avoidable procedures & other things. Overall advocacy support, making sure my birthing plan is being followed. By partner support I mean helping my significant other be included & us both calm & level headed. Pretty much just another educated companion to help me have a better birthing outcome.
